192 Ollivotti Troubadours. On at 3.30, 13 min, in 1. A very high-class musical act. The violinist is a wonder and his playing aroused a great deal of enthusiasm yesterday. This act has received some particularly good notices in the criticisms of the show. Mrs. Langtry. On at 3.43. While the action of the sketch is only about 17 min, I time her for 21, as we lower the act drop and set to the curtain line, making a wait both before and after the act. I think this adds to the effect of the affair by impressing the audience with the idea of the importance of the star. Regarding the sketch, would say that I consider it as possessing no particular merit, exceptin gin this case the very excellent quality of brevity. I am very sorry that we have Mrs. Langtry for two weeks, as I think we could get all the money in one. It is my humble opinion that this will be Mrs. Langtry's last trip to America for I think she has about played her string out. In saying this, I do not wish to be understood as thinking that her present tour is not a success, for the business she is doing here this week proves she is a drawing card, but I do not think she could ever repeat. James Harrigan. On at 4.04, 18 min; open 4 min in 1, 8 min in 2, 6 min close in 1. Harrigan held this hard spot in great shape. He caught his audience at the start and held them to his finish. He is always a big hit in this house. Our audiences never tire of him. The Finneys. On at 4.22, 13 min, full stage. An absence of six years makes this act almost a novelty. It held the audience at night better than any act we have had in this spot in weeks. I know that it will cause a lot of talk and draw money. Kinetograph. On at 4.35, 20 min. No. 1, "How to Get Rid of a Mother-in-Law", one of the best comic films we have had this season. The crazy automobile part of it makes a big hit. "Scenes in Guinea", a fair scenic film. "Stealing Tomatoes", a fair French comic film. Cuts:- Rogers & Deely. Mention of Mrs. Roosevelt and Mrs. Longworth. Fitzgerald & Gilday. "Does your wife wash" squib. Comment. I consider the show that surrounds Mrs. Langtry as very excellent and t horoughly high-class. A comedy act in place of the Merediths would be about the only change to be made to strengthen it. It is a show that pleases the people who came primarily to see Mrs. Langtry, as well as our regular patrons.
