199. DECEMBER 17, 1906. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C. E. BARNS. RAMSDELL SISTERS, Songs & Danc:- 13 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 6:25. Two pretty girls, well costumed, but their act is a distinct falldown. Make several changes of costume. They can neither sing nor dance enough to hold down any three-a-day spot in our bill. They received the poorest hand of any act we have had for a long time. They need to get down to work in earnest, if they want to accomplish anything in this business. The only applause the audience gave them was at the finish with the double dancing. DE VOY & MILLER,Comedy Acrobats. F.S. 3 shows. On at 6:38. Two men, one working straight and the other comedy. Are Philadelphia boys and did most of their training in Herrmanns studio in this building. I saw them when they gave their first performance at the Bijou some months ago and reported that they would work it into a very good three-a-day act, and so it has proved. The athletic stunts of Miller are particularly expert, and his high kicking is certainly fare above the ordinary. Each one of the feats got a good hand. The comedy is a little shy, but on the whole, it makes a very good opener. Closed well. TYSON & BROWN. Song and Dance:- 10 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 5:40. Man and woman, working straight, Singing is fairly good and showing professional training. Just about hold down an early place. The wooden-shoe dancing, and buck-dancing on roller skates by the man received their applause. Finish was mild. RADO & BERTRAM,"The New Girl!:- 18 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 7:00 This sketch give a dancer and contortionist a chance to show their skill, with changes of costume. It is only a fair three-a-day act and is practically the same as when it appeared here last August. ZENA KEIFE and her pony; Song ^ Danc:- 12 min. F. S. open and cl in 1. 3 shows. On at 7:18. Small advance applause. Sang three songs, each receiving fair hand. The F. S. part of the act consists of a song sung beside her pony. Close was fairly good. There is nothing in this act to about it further down the line, judging from the reception to-day. It is a case of not living up to her paper. HAYES & JOHNSON,"A Dream of Baby Days":- 24 min. F.S. close in 1. 2 shows. On at 7:35. Opens with some fairly good talk by two society girls after the ball. Some good songs are introduced which got a good hand. A suggestion is made that they dream of childhood days on wedding-cake, and thereupon follows the Kinetograph series of children at play, ending with a run. The finishing act in 1, when they both are fetchingly dressed as children managed to get some pretty good applause at the close.
