#3.-Phila. THE SIX CUTTYS.Musical-act:- 20 min. F.S. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:30. This act does not need any comment. Everybody who knows Vaudeville, knows that this is the best absolutely of the kind in the country. Received customary big hand after each number, with immense applause at the finish, five curtain calls and two encores. That's going some! HOUDINI,"Handcuff=King":- 30 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:50. Received big advance applause by a packed house. Offered his regularion tricks, including handcuffs and trunk trick. Received good hand throughout. Later will offer some new stunts which are bound to keep up the public interest. Finished strong, as usual. KINETOGRAPH: CUTTING ICE IN NORWAY:- Interesting travel pictures. A DIFFICULT PROBLEM:-Comedy film, but not having any particular merit, the fun being rather far-fetched. BY THE SEASIDE:- This is a very good finish. On the whole, the KINETOGRAPH feature is about up to the standard. GENERAL REMARKS;-This was one of the most uneven shows that we have had for some time. There is some excellent material in it, but the three-a-day section fell really short of requirements and some of the two-a-day acts were really of the three-a-day class. The redeeming features on the bill were HOUDINI, CRESSY, CUTTYS, and the FINNEYS. HAYES & JOHNSON died standing up in the afternoon, but pulled up very much better in the evening, by havin ga less difficult spot to hold down. ELIZABETH MURRAY was likewise a frost in the afternoon, her work utterly lacking spirit and dash, but in the evening she caught on very much stronger and left a good impression. RADO & BERTRAM did not get their trunks in time to go on in the afternoon, for which they might be pardoned, considering that it is such a tremendous jump from Union Square to Phila!!--then again, they might not. HOUDINI is preparing a special challenge feature for Tuesday and Friday of each week of his stay here, including his tricks of getting out of a paper bag, box, hamper and a Blackwell's Island straight=jacket, together with his other feats. It is unnecessary to say that business is immense with HOUDINI here, even though it is a week before Christmas. F.E.J.- The following cuts and objections were made in our show this week:- RAMSDELL SISTERS:- the "Will you" song, addressed to a person in the audience. also- announcement before imitation of Fogere and Guilbert. -o-
