204 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of December 24, 1906. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The bill this week is an excellent one from start to finish; in fact one of the best shows we ever played and ideal for the Holidays. DeVoy & Miller. Two men, acrobatic comedy act especially good from the 3-a-day standpoint. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Stevenson & Nugent. Singing, comedy and dancing; the comedy amounts to very little indeed, the singing is fair and the dancing - especially that of the eccentric comedian - is quite good. A good 3-a-day act. 11 min. in 1, 3 shows. Gorman & West. Well-known sketch that always does nicely here; just escapes getting in the 2-a-day class. 18 min. open in 3, close in 1, 3 shows. The Kratons. Hoop-rollers. This act was a great surprise; they made a bigger hit than Everhart did and I think it is a better act, in a general way; the man works exceedingly fast and does some very good tricks, and got round after round of applause all through his act. I certainly advise closing this act up for a route for next season as they will surely be doing 2 shows by then, if they are not correlled. 12 min. full stage 3 shows. Lelia Taylor. Vocalist. This young woman has improved quite considerably since here last and makes a nice appearance; she gets away with 3 songs in good style. 12 min. in 1, 3 shows. Franz Ebert & Co. This is a corking good act and little Mr. Ebert is a corking good actor. His support is good also, especially that of Maude Emery who was last season with Leslie Dailey and who introduces a very good toe dance in the sketch. The laughs were very frequent, and the applause strong. I am very glad I am playing it. 23 min. full stage, 2 shows. Fields & Wolley. Dutch comedians. Very good indeed. Went strongly with the audience. 18 min. in 1, 2 shows. Cathering Hayes & Sabel Johnson. These women deserve much credit for their effort to produce a novelty which they certainly have got. I would hardly call the act "great", but it is "good" and was well accepted by the audience. 25 min. open full stage, close with about 8 min. in 1, including the pictures on the Biograph. 2 shows. Merkel Sisters. Acrobats. Perfect revelation in the way of work of this kind from women. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Exposition Four. A very excellent act introducing musical selections, singing and dancing all well done and the comedy fairly good, altho much of the latter is taken from Waterbury Bros. & Tenny; however they made a hit and "that's the answer." 18 min. open full stage, close in one, 2 shows. Willard Simms. & Co. In "Flinders' Furnished Flat"; an act of the type of Simon & Gardner and mighty near as funny. They had the audience screaming for 27 min.-open full stage, close in 1. 2 shows. Watson's Farmyard & Motion Pictures, did not see this afternoon. Well known acts and unless there is something unusual in the Farmyard act I will not report upon it.
