206 CONTINUED. MILITARY OCTETTE---This is the first time I have ever seen this act, and I must confess I was disappointed. Not only at my impression, but the scant applause the audience gave the act. The woman's idea of Tempo is a huge joke. The brass work of the men is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The scenes are also good, but the whole act lacks that "Something" to make it great. They might take several wholesome lessons from the "Hungarian Boys Band." CARTER & WATERS CO. In "The Wise Mr. Con." Here is another enigma to me. Carter is a would be light Comedian supported by an impossible blonde woman very good looking, but tries to talk like a girl of sixteen. One of the commonest sets I have ever seen, and actually sent people out. 18 minutes. [in different type] Change their place to-night, and never want to see them again.[/in different type] GEO. EVANS---Third week of this man, and I am agreeably disappointed at the way he holds out. He has new stuff every week, and the audience never seem to tire of him. The two experiments of "Runs" I have had here, Crassy & Dayne, and Evans both proved successful. 20 mintes, full stage. FOUR HARVEYS---Second week of these clever people. It is one of the most refined, neat acts I have ever seen. 12 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH---WHO'S WHO. Very funny. A DESPERATE GIRL. Interesting and very dramatic film. A MODERN DIOGENES. A Scream. NOTE--I understand about it being a holiday week, but doubt the wisdom of putting such a show on here on account of future business. Outside of Bellalaire Bros., Quinlan & Mack, Geo. Evans and the Four Harveys the show is the worst I have witnessed. Changed Carter & Waters Co. to an earlier place. CUTS---De Muths, "What the hell." LA BELLE TRIO, "What a dirty thing." And Music Publishers Name. QUINLAN & MACK, "She don't live with me." CARTER & WATERS CO. "I don't think it will reach that far." And Business. LIndsay Morison.
