215 (2) Military Octette. On at 3.33, 27 min, in all, close in 1, 7 min. I had an idea that they opened in 1, and so they do, but only for a minute, which makes the opening of no value in changing the set. However, as their second scene is in 2, practically the only wait is caused by changing the ground-cloths. I consider this a most attractive act. It is novel and of the kind that creates conversation. I am very glad to have them in the bill this week. Master Gabriel Co. On at 4.00, 28 min, full stage. The same story, the greatest act for children of all ages in vaudeville. They have put in some new business this week which goes very well. Kinetograph. On at 4.28, 15 min. "The Crazy Mattress"; this film came to me with the title "The Drunken Mattress", which I changed and also with a scene that I was obliged to cut out bodily. As it is now, the picture can be shown in any house and will cause a lot of laughter. "The Wonderful Album", a very pretty colored film. Brooks & Vedder. 15 min, in 1; 3 shows. A very fair act of its kind, although why they call it a German comedy sketch I fail to understand. However, they are good for an early spot. Cuts:-- Alvin & Kenney. cut out a couple of kicks in the posterior, a shot in the posterior, and one on the posterior on the upright. Fields & Wolley. "What the hello".. Spitting in eye and accompanying squib. Board of Health squib. Sam Watson. Cut "Why don't you wash your mouth out", (after being kissed by the donkey). Comment. A crackajack show, even better than last week, although it cost about $300 less. The three-show section is particularly good, as almost all of the acts excepting one would surely make good in the two-show section.
