216 216 (handwritten) Cleveland Show Week Dec. 31, 1906. ( H. A. Daniels) THE BURKES-- Man and woman. Messenger boy and soubrette. Singing and dancing specialties. The feature of the act is theman's trick piano playing, which is on the order of that offered by Bert Howard. Quite a clever act for an opener. C.D. F. in three. 17 min. THE THREE DANCING MITCHELLS-- Man woman and little girl. Real coons. Well known on the circuit. Got by all right but did not get a great deal of applause. Open in one, go to two, close in one. 16 min. MR. & MRS. MARK MURPHY-- "The Coal Strike" Too well known for comment. This is their third visit here. Wish they would get a new act. This act went very well today with the holiday audience, but we had a thousand people in the house who had never been here before. C.D.F. in three close in one. 23 minutes. ROYAL MUSICAL FIVE-- Four boys and a girl. This is a "refined musical offering," and is refined. It's different, and it's worth while. It reminds oneof the Gems. It is a straight musical act and a good one. F. S. 18 minutes. WORLD & KINGSTON-- Put in this spot in place of Willie Weston because Miss Kingston contracted a severe cold in Columbus last week and asked me to let her off as easy as possible for the afternoon show. She visited a throat specialist this morning. My criticism of the act in Columnus last week will do for this week with the exception that I might ad that the act was the applause hit of the show today. Open in one, C. D.F. in three, close in one, 24 minutes. KREMKA BROTHERS-- Put here in place ofclosing the show because of the fact that we could not make the Rose DeHaven set this afternoon. The Rose Dehaven Sextette came from Chicago. Kremka Brothers is a comedy acrobatic act one man working straight and theother as waiter. Scene is a restaurant. The comedy is very ordinary, the acrobatic work is very good. Interior in three 11 minutes. WILLIE WESTON-- This boy gives impersonations of George Cohen, Joe Welch, Bert Williams, and Cliffe Gordon. He was placed in this spot in place of World and Kingston for today. I am very glad to be able to say that with the afternoon audience he proved a hit. Next to World and Kingston he received the most applause given an individual act. He is a comer and there is no reason why he cannot hold down any spot in one in any ordinary vaudeville show. Drop in one 16 minutes. ROSE DEHAVEN SEXTETTE-- There seven girls in this act. They carry a set cottage and some other small stuff to make a pretty garden setting. The act is a sort of novelty. Five girls open the act with a singing and dancing specialty and then the girls are divided up into pairs and do singing and dancing specialties, while the others change costumes. The act is all rightfor the price and is worth double the amount of the act I went to Toledo to see last week. When this act is placed right in the show tonight there is no doubt that it will make good as a headline feature. F. S. 18 minutes. KINETOGRAPH-- COMMENT-- The show as a whole is all right, but of course it does not trot in the same class with last week's show which included Mme. Renz, The Elinore Sisters, A Night in English Vaudeville, and Carleton macy and Maude Hall. Last week's show broke the house records for attendance and receipts and was considered by everyone in Cleveland to be the best vaudeville show ever given in the city.
