MOSHER, HOUGHTON & MOSHER, Bicyclists:-13 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:57. Well known on the Circuit. Two men working straight and one eccentric tramp comedian. The comedy part of the act is O.K. and the trick riding likewise. I do not know but what the day of trick cycling has gone by since the interest in the wheel has died out. Nevertheless, the work of these men got a good hand and made a good closing feature. KINETOGRAPH:- MUMMERS' PARADE,NEW YEAR'S DAY:-Local film of a good deal of interest to Philadelphians. OFF FOR THE HOLIDAYS:- A comedy film that is full of life and fun. One of the best we have had for some time. SKI-ING IN CANADA:- Series of interesting pictures of Canadian sport. GENERAL REMARKS:- This show is weak in the three-a-day section as compared with last week. There is one act,-MCINTYRE & BENNETT that is only a fair three-a-day act, judged on its own merits, but there are no surprises in the way of three-a-day acts good enough for the two-show section as occurred last week and week before. BESSIE WYNN is making good splendidly but VOLTA'S act seems to lack the element of surprise. THe fact that he takes a heavy voltage of static electricity is not so surprising, but when he claims to be able to take a heavy voltage of direct current from a live wire everybody knows that that is nonsense. We had planned to have some scientists see Volta's act and give us comments, but there was not enough of the element of novelty in the man's work to justify it. Business continues to be big. The following cuts and objections were made in our show this week:- BURKE & DEMPSEY:- "I saw the humerous side of your wife". WISE & MILTON:- The expression "gallery gods" and reference to chewing tobacco. FEJ.
