237 TEMPLE DETROIT. JAN. 14, 1907. J. H. Finn. JAMES F. KELLY & ANNIE M. O'BRIEN. This act is too good to open a show. But as it is it went very strong. Cut "Take it on a cascaret." 14 min. Close in one. REDFORD & WINCHESTER. One of the best comedy juggling acts in the business. Closed to strong applause. 14 min. FS. MISS IDA O'DAY. Songs and banjo selections. Just a fair little act. Would do very well for 3-a-day shows. 12 min. in one. ARNOLD DALY & CO. Presenting the Bernard Shaw satire "How He Lied to Her Husband." The best thing in the way of comediettas, or satires, since Charles Hawtrey's memorable engagement. I cannot express in words the great success of Arnold Daly and his superb support. It is only on very rare occasions that vaudeville audiences have the opportunity of enjoying such a treat, and if Mrs. Langtry is just half as satisfying the Temple clientele will have cause to glory in the possession of such feasts. Our audiences fairly enthused over the comedietta, and it will certainly be the talk of theatergoers of this city. 30 min. FS. Personally I think it would have been better had Daly & Co. been placed further down in the bill. STANLEY & LEONARD. This is a very good act of smart sayings, singing and dancing, with Miss Leonard carrying off the honors. 13 min. in one. CHARLES MACK & CO. Presenting for the first time the comedy-drama playlet "Come Back to Erin." A very good act that will certainly cause talk among those of Irish birth or parentage, and will please the masses as well. The idea is a good one, the setting and atmosphere fine. But after seeing the very artistic work of Mr. Daly and company the acting of Mr. Mack and company appears crude. It would require the artistic finish of Mr. Mack's former partner to place this act on a high plane. 18 min. FS. JOHNNIE FORD & MAYME GEHRUE. Presenting a new act of singing, "patter," and a little dancing, on the order of the act of Gould & Surratt. I consider this a very good act but I would like to see Ford do more dancing and less singing. 17 min. in one. JOHN & LUIS BOLLER. These cycle acrobats do some remarkable stunts, but they work slow and half their time is taken up in fixing their apparatus. Our audiences want more slap-bang work, and don't want to have performers putter around. 18 min. FS.
