CLEVELAND SHOW WEEK MAY 20th, 1907. (F. Brandt) FLEMEN & MILLER: Songs and stories. Man and woman. singing and talking. This is far from being a good act, as the singing was very bad, and their stories came along way from getting any laughter. 17 minutes in one. MINNIE KAUFMANN: Greatest lady trick cyclist in the world. without a doubt this is one of the best single bicycle acts we have had, and in connection with "Chinko", she certainly is worth the money. A very good act. 10 minutes full stage. WELCH, MEALY & MONTROSE: 3 men. Comedy acrobats. This act without a doubt is one of the best acts of its kind we have had in some time. They do some very clever tumbling, and Mr Welch's comedy talk certainly had them laughing all the time. They close their act with a burlesque base ball game which is about the best I have seen, and the audience seemed to have the same opinion. 10 minutes in one. JULIA REDMOND & CO: In a comedy sketch, entitled,"Too Much Married". I cannot quite agree with everybody who has been knocking this act. While there is nothing great about it, it certainly is a laugh producer and scored very heavy this afternoon, getting two curtain calls at finish. Probably the poorest one in the cast is Miss Redmond. Three men and two women. C. D. F. 22 minutes. LEW SULLY: Monologist. Act too well known for comment and went as well as ever. 16 minutes in one. CHINKO" A wonderful juggler. Without a doubt this is one of the best little juggling acts we had had in some time. He is assisted by Miss Kaufmann and I assure you he is working every minute he is on the stage. It is some time since we have had a juggling act that put so much ginger in their work as this man did. 10 minutes Palace. JOHN GEIGER & NELLIE WALTERS: "Streets Of Italy". This team is doing about the same act they did when last seen here. Mr Geiger does one new imitation on his violin. Did not go as strong as we expected, and have shifted them with Welch, Mealy & Montrose. 22 minutes in one. Street "THE RED OWL": -2- THE RED OWL" The story of this little play has been thoroughly described before, and expected it would go much better than it did this afternoon. It seemed to hold the interest of the audience all through, with the exception of the finish, which probably was do to the fact that they are closing the show. There is no doubt in my mind that this act should make good anywhere, but feel the price is a little bit high, considering the fact that there is no one in the cast who is well enough known to draw any money. 26 minutes Special interior.
