10 Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket, R. I. Monday October 18, 1909. Matinee. Weather, cloudy. Business, fair OVERTURE. Time 3 minutes. REEL NO. 1. Time 13 minutes. REEL NO. 2. Time 10 minutes. THE HOWARDS. Went bad. Sketch entitled "The Rube and His Dream." Man and Woman. Did not go at all with my audience. The act dragged all through the 23 minutes consumed. Opens in two, then one, then three, then one and finishes in two. MLLE. ANTOINETTE. Went well. Young miss in character changes and songs. Good wardrobe. Does imitations of Anna Held and Bessie McCoy and closes with a neat little toe dance. A very good number for the small time. In one. Time 9 min. THE PELOTS. Went big. Comedy juggling act by man and woman. Both good jugglers and the running fire of talk during the work goes immense. Woman works straight, the man using a "silly kid" make-up. Trick of catching apples thrown from the audience on a fork held in the mouth is well worked up and gets 'em going. Full stage. Time 11 minutes. HARRY GILBERT. Went Big. Monologuist and singing comedian. Songs went well and the talk, though rusty, scored. Works straight. In one. Time 14 minutes. BUSH FAMILY. Went big. Father and four children, two songs and two daughters in a nice musical act. Well dressed. Classical numbers for the most part with string instrumentation, cornets used only in closing number. A clean act and one that will please any audience of music lovers. Full stage. Time 16 minutes. REEL NO. 3. Time 16 minutes. George Albert Haley.
