REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK DECEMBER 20, 1909. W. W. PROSSER. LUIGI MARABINI: Italian Ice Sculptor. He carries a very pretty set representing Arctic scenes and his work consists of sculpturing first a camel, then two birds, and for a finish an American eagle. He works very rapidly and his offering is showman-like in every respect. As he finishes each of the before-named pieces of work he places them in a scenic receptacle lighted from the interior, thus keeping his work in full view of the audience all the time, which is a very good idea. At the finish of each of his feats he was given a substantial round of applause, and the finish of his work was indicative of a genuine success. Special set in 3, 14 minutes. EDDIE MACK & DOT WILLIAMS: Novelty dancers. Each is a decidedly clever exponent of dancing and made the biggest kind of an individual hit. Miss Williams did comparatively little work but added quite a bit to the act on account of being petite and cute. They were compelled to open and close in one, an unusual condition I am told, notwithstanding which they got along very nicely, gained applause liberally and finished fairly strong. A perfectly satisfactory act. Open olio in 1, goes to C. D. F. in 3, closes olio in 1, 16 minutes. JAMES & SADIE LENOARD: Assisted by Richard Anderson, in their laughable travesty, "When Caesar C's Her". The act went big all the way through and the work individually and collectively was decidedly above par. Genuine laughter and plenty of fun throughout. 19 minutes, special set in 4. RAY COX: "The Girl from Dixie". She opened moderately well, became stronger as she proceeded, and gradually rounded out a good sized and unmistakable success for herself. Some of her stuff is a little "fly" but I don't believe any of it would offend. A very satisfactory act. 21 minutes, olio in 1. EXPOSITION FOUR: A very versatile quartette of gentlemen who offer an entertaining repertoire of instrumental and vocal music and dancing. Each and every number submitted won genuine approval and they proved to be a thorough success throughout. Opened C. D. F. in 3, closed street in 1, 18 minutes. STUART, "The Male Patti". A slight demonstration of applause upon his entrance. All of his songs gained the closest attention and he was liberally rewarded at the finish of each with abundance of applause. His gowns are very pretty, and all in all he makes a striking appearance. As a soprano he is equal to many female vocalists of note and his success was thoroughly satisfactory. Open C. D. F., close olio in 1, 16 minutes. MARCEL & BORIS: Man and boy in a decidedly clever equilibrist offering. All of their tricks are exceptionally well executed and they were well received. A little mandolin and violin playing is dragged in the act and this, together with their comedy, which is rather painful, could be well eliminated. The act scored, however, and proved entirely satisfactory. Palace in 5, 9 minutes. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
