Boston show Week December 20, 09. R. G. Larsen (Monday afternoon show) Overture. On at 1:45, 17 minutes. Henri French. On at 2:02, 17 minutes full stage. This well known act could, of course, have gone further down on the bill, but we were obliged to open the show with it and it started things in good shape. Two Pucks. On at 2:19, 18 minutes, open in 1. This is a rather pleasing act, but did not make any great impression here this afternoon, until the finish, which was very strong. Frankie Carpenter and Jere Grady. On at 2:37 in "At the Toll Bridge." 17 minutes full stage, special set. These people are favorites in New England where they have been playing for a number of years in repertoire companies, and got a reception this afternoon. The sketch went very well, but it is hardly worthy of the players, who certainly make the most of their parts. They held the interest from the start, got laughs, and finished big. Frank Morrell. On at 2:54, 15 minutes in 1. Although Morrell is doing the very same stuff he did during his last appearance here, he got it over in pretty good shape. Juggling Normans. On at 3:09, 9 minutes full stage. This is a good swift juggling act and got applause this afternoon. Little Billy. On at 3:18, 13 minutes in 1. We have been plugging this little fellow for the last couple of weeks and aroused considerable interest in him. The result was a warm reception when he made his appearance this afternoon and what is more to the point, he made good from the very start. He got his first song, a tipsy well, over in good shape with laughs all through. His Scotch song, although not so strong, was very acceptable, and he had no trouble in getting back for his eccentric dancing, which made a decided hit. We are very well satisfied with Bill, as a headline feature for the holiday season. - 2 - Lane and O'Donnell. On at 3:31, 8 minutes full stage. This pair are about as lively acrobatic comedians as we have played in a long time and got a succession of laughs this afternoon. Howard and North. On at 3:39, 23 minutes in 1 - 1/2, playing "Back in Wellington." A great big hit, a better sketch than "Happy Days." Top o' th' World Dancers. On at 4:02, 21 minutes full stage, special set. This splendid act was as lively as ever this afternoon but strange to say, did not get as much applause as might have been expected. It immediately preceded the Christmas tree, a feature in which the house full of children were interested. Comment. A very pleasing holiday show, lively from start to finish.
