66 BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. Monday, December 20, 1909. Matinee. Business, light. Weather, fair. Overture. Time 3 minutes. REEL NO. 1. "A Ranchman's Rival". Dramatic. Good. Time 15 minutes. REEL NO. 2. "The Indian." Dramatic. Good. Time 10 minutes. JACK KAMMERER. Went well. Illustrated song. Good. Time 6 minutes. REEL NO. 3. "The Test" and "A Hempen Bag." Comedy and dramatic. Good Time 10 min NAN ACKER & CO. Went well. Ventriloquial act entitled "On the B. & O." Special scene of a waiting room in a railroad station. Nine dummies are employed and a walking figure. This was the first performance of the act and while there was some confusion as was to be expected, it was well done in the main. Miss Acker is very clever as a ventriloquist and the dialogue is full of pith and point. The laughs come frequently. There is a foundation in the act for something good to be developed and with attention should result in an act worth while. Full stage. Time 10 min. JAMES CORRIGAN. Went fair. Singer, talker and dancer. Material not of the best yet it gets by. Songs and dancing on a par with the talk. Eccentric costume, A red suit, rather the worse for wear. In short the act reminds one of an olio act from the cheaper grade of burlesque shows. In one. Time 9 min FERRY. Went big. Contortion act and the best and most elaborately mounted of any ever seen in this city. Ferry's work great and applauded frequently Carries three drops and uses special light effects. Costumed in the guise of a frog. Full Stage. Time 12 minutes. Bijou Theatre, Woonsocket, R. I. Matinee, Thursday, December 23, 1909. Weather, cool. Business, light. New act (in place of James Corrigan.) HATTIE HARRIS. Went well. English singing and character change comedienne. Sang three songs in a style peculiar to herself. They are sung quietly yet they teem with clean comedy and humor. Wears eccentric costumes changing to a bespangled dress of the music hall style. The act is rathe enjoyable for the reason that it is unlike anything we have seen here. Works in one. Time 13 minutes. Geo. A. Haley.
