REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK JANUARY 6, 1910. W. W. PROSSER, MGR. APDALE'S ANIMALS: Dogs, monkeys and bears in a very entertaining routine of tricks, all of which went well. The act closed strong. 15 minutes, palace in 4. BERT HOWARD & EFFIE LAURENCE: In "The Stage Manager". This well known team scored heavily all the way through making a decidedly favorable impression. Their work was well received and they finished very good. 21 minutes, bare stage, closed in one. MAKARENKA TROUPE: 8 men and women in a Russian singing and dancing act. Their singing was fairly well received and their dancing went big, giving them a very strong finish. Garden in 5, 15 minutes. LEO CARILLO: Chinese impersonator and dialect stories. Went very well and scored a hit of no mean proportion. Had the house going excellently and finished strong. 15 minutes, olio in one. GEORGE BEBAN & CO.: In "The Sign of the Rose". This dramatic playlet gained the attention of the audience from the rise of the curtain and fared excellently all the way through. The personal success of Mr. Beban was great, and at the finish he was compelled to take 8 or 10 legitimate curtains. Nothing better has ever played the house before. 24 minutes, special set in 5. AUGUSTA GLOSE: Pianologue and spoken songs. She proved herself an artist of great ability and scored a genuine, unqualified hit all the way through. Was a very popular entertainer and finished strong. 18 minutes, olio in one. MAREENA, NEVARO & MAREENA: Three men who as equilibrists are most excellent. Their work is clean cut, capably executed, and one member of the trio is a very entertaining comedian. Every trick they did won applause and they proved thoroughly acceptable all the way through. Finished strong. Palace in 5, 8 minutes. MOVING PICTURES: O. K. NOTE: On account of late trains Augusta Glose and Apdale's Animals did not arrive in time to appear at the matinee performance. This is a very strong show, in fact one of the best that ever played the house.
