88 Boston show week Jan 10, '10. R. G. Larsen Monday afternoon show Overture. 14 minutes. Samaroff and Sonia. 10 minutes full stage. Russian peasants with trained dogs. This is a very good opening act, picturesque, the dogs doing some clever tricks and the acrobatic work is very good and gets a good hand. Walace Galvin. Magician, 15 in 1. A rather clever palmist and does some good card tricks and proved intensely interesting with his Chinese rings. McDonald, Crawford and Montrose. 15 minutes in 1. A rather clever dancing act with three changes of costume, and while it is not sensational or a great applause getter, it proved very interesting. Gracie Emmett. In "Mrs Murphy's Second Husband," 22 minutes C D F. It is three years since the sketch was played here but a good many in the audience seemed to remember it. It went very well although it could not be called a "riot" in this spot. McIntyre and Groves. 15 minutes in 1. These boys are doing a talking act, something after the fashion of the old Smith and Campbell act, with some of the latter's stuff. It is rather noisy but managed to get a good many laughs this afternoon. Eight Palace Girls. 19 Min. F. S. Went big as usual. Denman Thompson. In "Joshua Whitcomb" 19 minutes full stage with 10 minutes opening in 1. The second week of Mr Thompson's engagement opened in the most gratifying manner. He received as great a reception as he did last Monday and got just as many laughs although we usually have the same audience every Monday afternoon, and he got as many curtain calls at the finish.
