91 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF JANUARY 10, 1910. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. This is a splendid bill and evidently gave great satisfaction to the audience. Tom and Edith Almond Well-known act which opened the bill most satisfactorily. 15 Min. F. S. Do NOT close in One. MINNIE ST CLAIR Country girl, stories and songs. Did very nicely for this spot. 13 Min. in One. Lasky's IMPERIAL MUSICIANS I do not like this act at all. The man who does the singing is by no means good enough for such an important act. The only thing that seemed to go was the finish with the girls doing all the drum clap business, which lent a little comedy. It cannot be denied that four of the men are good performers on cornets and trombones, but as a whole it is not a first class big act. 18 Min. F. S. MATTHEW A HENSON Co-discoverer with Peary of the North Pole. It was quite evident this afternoon that Henson had drawn us some money, but he probably got more advance advertising than any act we ever played. The act seemed to interest the people, but it has to be handled in a peculiar way and a great deal of trouble was taken in this theatre to present it to the best possible advantage. If he were billed in an ordinary way and then sent out on the stage to give his lecture without proper presentation and preparation, I would doubt his vaudeville value. As it is, it seems to me that he will be a good attraction, if not paid too large a salary to make it possible to surround him by a first class show. Of course, I am only guessing at his value. I will know more about that on Saturday night. 23 Min. in One. CHAS. & FANNIE VAN Did very well in this spot, but I think they are getting all the money they are worth and then some. 15 Min. in One. KONERZ BROS. Hoop rollers and diabolo experts. A very pretty act that pleased, principally because of its novelty.y 11 min. F.S. SMITH & CAMPBELL In their new offering, "Camping Out", which pleased most decidedly. 23 Min. in One. CHARLOTTE PARRY & CO. The best protean act in the business and the only one that ever made good in this house. However, as this is her third visit here, I doubt her drawing value and would prefer not to play the act for the next two or three years. 24 Min. F.S. TROVATO Freak Violinist. This was the big hit of the show and will no doubt attract more than his salary. It was with difficulty that we got the next act on. I think he could be playing yet. 22 Min. in One. LANE & O'DONNELL A very funny acrobatic comedy act which held down the spot in great shape. 9 Min. F.S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
