134 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of February 21, 1910. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The bill this week may be ranked as good, altho it has a couple of weak spots, and it by no means compares with the excellent program of last week, probably the best we ever offered. COOK & SYLVIA Singing and dancing, the latter by the man is very good indeed. The woman is decidedly excess baggage. This is one of the best evidences of the progression of vaudeville that I know of. Two years ago, these people were a big hit all along the line in important spots in bills. Today they barely get bye [by] opening the show. 12 Min. in One. The McGreGORS Musical Act and a pretty bad one. Accepted because they are booked together with Duncan's Collies. 12 Min. open F.S. Close in One. THE GAUSCH SISTERS Hand to hand balancers and acrobats. No allowance needs to be made for the fact that they are women. One of the snappiest and best acrobatic acts we have played in a long time. 8 Min. in Two. WM. WOLFF & CO. Mr. Wolff is something of a local favorite and for that reason has value in this house. He is an excellent artist. His sketch, "The Head of the House" may be termed fairly good, but not worthy of his ability. The supporting company is poor. 23 Min. F. S. DUNCAN'S COLLIES Has been described by managers in other houses. I consider it among the very best dog acts we ever played. It was a big hit with the audience today and will no doubt prove a drawing card. 14 Min. F. S. NELSON & OTTO Well-known piano and singing act, which gave evident satisfaction. 17 Min. in One. BALLET OF LIGHT Number two company, which is by no means as good as the one we had last week, but because of the great success of last week's company they will no doubt get by. The playing of an act the second week has never heretofore been a success in this house. It remains to be seen whether or not this will be an exception. 20 Min. F. S. AL JOLSON Blackface comedian. The unquestionable hit of the show. 15 Min. in One. FUTURITY WINNER A thrilling little melodrama, with a good horse race finish with a company about as bad as Joe Hart usually offers. Kingsley Benedict is good, the others range from mediocre to bad. 18 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
