176 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF MARCH 14, 1910. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. This is a fairly good show, which I think will give general satisfaction but not create a sensation. RUBY RAYMOND & CO Well-known singing and dancing act which did very well indeed and could, in fact, hold a much better position. 12 Min. in One. SYDNEY DEANE & CO "Christmas on the Island". There is no gain saying that this is a good act, but the fact remains that it has been seen too often to be of any value. The man have played their parts so long that they have grown mechanical, the only real unction being found in the bass. The act costs too much money for what we get out of it. 18 Min. in Two. EDWINA BARRY & CO. This act failed to score the screaming hit that has been attributed to it in other cities, and for that reason I was obliged to move it from number seven up to number three. As far as Providence is concerned, it is not worth the money. 22 Minutes F. S. ALF GRANT Monologuist who scored his usual success. 22 Min. in One. FREY TWINS Wrestling and posturing. A very classy act, well put on and which will probably draw as much money as any act on the bill. 9 Min. F. S. GRIFFITH Lightning calculator, who does the usual stunts performed by men of that class, but the act is presented in a most showmanlike manner, due evidently to the ability of his manager. The act contains a little element of comedy and, on the whole, made good. 18 Min. in One. EDWARDS DAVIS & CO In "The Picture of Dorian Grey". This is a splendidly presented act, beautifully mounted and well acted. I am inclined to believe that it is too epigramatical] [epigrammatical] for vaudeville, but it cannot help but lend distinction to any bill that it is in. 23 Min. F. S. WRIGHT & DIETRICH Singing act, tenor and soprano. I was afraid the early part of the act that the audience was going to get away from them. They made a strong finish, however, with their "Silver Moon", which really is their act. It is too bad that they haven't a strong number for the early part of their offering. 15 Min. in One. THE VIVIANS The best shooting act I ever saw. Can be made a feature anywhere. 17 Min. F. S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
