REPORT OF PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF APRIL 4, 1910. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. For the amount of money invested, this is about the best playing show we ever had, several of the features making unqualified hits. WOOD BROS. Well-known ring act which fared well as it always does. 8 Min. F. S. VICTORIA FOUR Male quartette, which gives an act along the usual lines, some of the voices being quite good. An act decidedly worth playing. 12 Min. in One. 3 RICHARDSONS Two men and a young woman who does the comedy. In spots they got some very strong laughs, altho it is not the kind of an act that will please the more intelligent clientele. It got by all right in this spot but I would not want to risk them further down. 17 Min. F. S. CUNNINGHAM & MARION Acrobatic taling comedians. A corking good act that made good in the second to last spot in the afternoon show. Moved up here to enable me to put Jarrow down further. 12 Min. in One. HILDA THOMAS & LOU HALL Thesep people have come to life again with a very good vehicle. There is no gainsaying that Miss Thomas is a clever woman and Hall has developed into a very good rube comedian. The act though not great will get by anywhere if not depended upon for too much. 22 Min. F.S. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS Went better than they ever did before in this house. 15 Min. in One. WILLIAMS &. VAN ALSTYNE That these men have drawing value was proven by the big advance hand on their entrance, something exceedingly rare in this theatre. To say they made a hit would be putting it mildly. I am sure I never heard as much spontaneous and general applause as they received for any act that ever appeared in this house. The audience simply refused to let them go after 18 Min. They usually work in One. I am giving them full stage here in order to make it look more pretentious. JARROW Another tremendous hit. What Williams & Van Alstyme received in the way of applause was given Jarrow in laughter and a tremendous big hand at his finish. No magician, no matter how big, ever scored as strongly in this house as he did today. 21 Min. in One. ROYAL TOKYO JAPS In some respects this is the best Jap act we ever had. While their risley [risky] work does not compare with that of the Kitamuras, they do some high work, especially on a horizontal bar attached to a pole perched on a man's shoulders, that was decidedly sensational. A little novelty is also given by their presenting four acts at one time. 20 Min. F.S. They also do a slide for life. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
