233 REPORT ON PROVIDENCE SHOW, WEEK OF APRIL 25th, 1910. Charles Lovenberg, Manager. This is a good show that plays well and gave evident satisfaction to today's audience. I think it has elements in it that will draw money. THE HAVELOCKS Two men juggling. A little old-fashioned in style but they do some good work and it is all right for the money. 14 Min. F. S. DAVE NOWLIN Songs and imitations of animals, et cetera. This man went exceedingly well and I am sure could have held a spot a couple of pegs further down on the bill. 12 Min. in One. PATRICE & CO In "The Lobbyist". I don't care for this act at all myself. It went fairly well with the audience. The sketch is better than the players. 18 Min. F. S. JOHNSON & WELLS Well-known colored act which held the spot satisfactorily. 15 Min. in One. Lasky's LOVE WALTZ As far as this house is concerned, this is in many respects Lasky's best act. It is too bad that the act is dragged out with so much poor comedy. The musical numbers are every pretty and it is handsomely mounted. 27 Min. F. S. TOM WATERS Mr. Waters proved to be something of a lemon. He could not hold the second to last spot at all so was moved up to this position. This was in face of the fact that practically everything else in the show made a hit. 15 Min. in One. DEWITT, BURNS & TORRANCE Well-known act which held the spot acceptably, altho I should have preferred them higher up. They are placed here to give the show balance and separate the two girl acts. 12 Min. F. S. GOLDSMITH & HOPPE These fellows were a veritable riot. The unquestionable hit of the show. They had hard work getting away from the audience after 18 Min. in One. HART'S BATHING GIRLS This act surprised me by making a real hit and, together with its novelty, I consider it a valuable act. Exchanged to this position, from that held by the Love Waltz, because of its great success. 18 Min. F. S. KEITH MOTION PICTURES O.K.
