249 BOSTON SHOW WEEK MAY 16, '10 [1910] (Monday night) R. G. Larsen. ANDERSON AND GOINES. 16 minutes in 3. This is not our ideal opening act, and we gave it a set, which did not help out very much, but broke the monotony. They got away with it in good shape. MARION GARSON. 10 minutes in 1. Miss Garson is very pretty, has a good voice and personality, but I think as a single singing turn without any element of novelty, is not worth the money we are paying her. WILLY PANTZER TROUPE. 15 minutes f.s. This act is much the same as has been given here before, but with a few new stunts. It woke up the show in great shape. CHARLES AND FANNIE VAN. 14 minutes in 1. Same act and in this spot was a good laugh getter. CHARLES LEONARD FLETCHER. 22 minutes f.s. close in 1. Fletcher is a Boston man and got a good reception on his appearance. Gave his old Mark Twain impersonation and two new ones, a strikebreaker in court, and a tramp, both of which were good. He finished big. TUSCANY TROUBADOURS. 25 minutes in 1. Notwithstanding that we have had a surfeit of these grant [grand] opera acts this season, this troupe went very well to-night. VALERIE BERGERE AND COMPANY IN "THE LION TAMER." 23 minutes f.s. special set. This is a good showy act with a fair story and rather novel element of comedy furnished by Miss Bergere herself. It got the audience early to-might and went big to the close. DOHERTY SISTERS. 15 minutes in 1. I put these girls down here after the afternoon performance, and they held the spot in great shape. It is without question the best act they have ever had, is thoroughly clean, and the girls are certainly clever. They made a hit here to-jnight. FRED ST. ONGE, 14 minutes f.s. St. Once has quite a troupe, including a woman and a ride. He keeps a good deal of his old comedy and the woman introduces some novelty stunts. Has a much better act than his old one. While not an ideal closing act, held this spot in great shape. COMMENT. This show rounded out to-night in very much better shape than I expected, and was thoroughly pleasing.
