251 BOSTON SHOW WEEK MAY 23, '10. R. G. Larson. (Monday night) FERRY. 11 minutes f.s. This is without question one of the best opening acts for the money we have played in a long time. Here iks a contortionist with a good stage setting, whio does work that cannot be objected to and who closed with a big hand. ITALIAN TRIO. 12 minutes in 1. This is one of the very best acts of the kind we have played. It was rather too bad to sacrifice it in this spot. They should be awarded honorable mention for omitting the "Toreador song" and "Chiri-biri-bi" from their repertoire. MERRILL AND OTTO. 20 minutes in 1. These people got a good hand on their appearance, This is a very good talking act, neat, clean, and entertaining, but was somewhat marred by the song "This is no place for a minister's son," which we had cleaned up a bit tonight. JULIUS STEGER IN "THE WAY TO THE HEART." 20 minutes f.s. This is another one of those dramatic sketches, very pretty, but is rather too long drawn out. WELCH, MEALY AND MONTROSE. 17 minutes open and close in one. This well known team of acrobatic comedians went as well as ever and woke up the show after Steger. KATHLEEN CLIFFORD. 20 minutes open and close in 1. Miss Clifford is the same attractive little miss that we saw in "Betty in Dreamland," but her impersonations and "kid" bits stuck out much more strongly when she's simply a feature of the production. However, she was pleasing and went very well to-night. BIXLEY AND FINK. 18 minutes in one. These boys were nothing short of a riot here to-night and this afternoon. In fact, they stopped the show. They toned down the burlesque quite a lot without hurting it in the least. GUS EDWARDS' SCHOOL BOYS AND GIRLS. 30 minutes f.s. This act made a good lively closer for a show that worked out in excellent shape.
