PROVIDENCE E. F. ALBEE DECEMBER 5, 1921 The bill this week doesn't hold up to that of last week by any means nor is it quite as good as several that have past. Two or three of the acts are very good indeed, but ti sure lacks punch and some of the acts are inclined to let us down a bit all tending to make the show not fully up to the mark. CHARLES LOVENBERG CLAIRE & ATWOOD - Man and woman in a comedy acrobatic act which makes a very nice opener. 10 minutes full stage. HOBSON & BEATTY - Two attractive young women in an act of singing and piano playing including some high class songs, some comedy ones and rather new in atmosphere. The act while quiet is very nice indeed and worth playing. 14 minutes in one. KELSO & LEE - This is an act done here previously by someone, that I cannot reall who but not as well done as on the previous occasion and at best I would call it only fair. 14 minutes in one and one half. BOB PENDER TROUPE - Singing, dancing, contortion, acrobatic and stilt walking a live act in every way and a very big hit. 13 minutes full stage. RAYMOND BOND - Mr. Bond is a prime favorite here being one of the leading men of our Stock Company of the last few seasons. Mr. Bond is giving us at my desire a monologue, rather than his sketch, opening it "cold" here. As Mr. Bond is so well known and well liked here we could afford of course, to take this chance and proved more satisfactory than the sketches that he has played for us before. While not in thorough shape for other houses, I am sure that Mr. Bond has all the elements of a monologist and he has material which, with working out, will get over. He portrays a country doctor and has an act that recalls somewhat that of Ezra Kendall of some years ago. When the time comes another season, I think Mr. Bond should be encouraged and given an opportunity to give this act a working out. 20 minutes in one. HAMPTON & BLAKE - These two people have a little offering while quiet is acceptable, but would have been better in an earlier spot. Hardly equal to this position. 15 minutes in two. AMES & WINTHROP - This exceedingly clever pair of entertainers scored a most decided hit. 30 minutes full stage; long close in one. NORTH & HALLIDAY - In a revival of their old act "Back To Wellington" The act got laughs but it was by no means a big hit. Its alright but I am quite satisfied that we are paying too much money for it. 25 minutes in two. NIOBE - In the usual underwater feats in an act that made a satisfactory closing. 10 minutes full stage.
