PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S JAN. 30th FABLES & TOPICS -(13 mins.) Both very good. KLUTING'S ENTERTAINERS - (12 mins.) A very pretty animal act that gave a very nice opener. Went well. FRANK BROWNE - (10 mins.) One of the best xylophone acts that we have ever had and a very big hit. Took several bows. "DUMMIES" - (25 mins.) Just a flash girl act. Very little to it but it is nicely dressed and staged and did fairly well. DORIS DUNCAN - (19 mins.) This girl has improved considerably, both in the delivery of her songs and personal appearance. She has a good selection of numbers and gets them over very well. She is assisted by a pianist. FRANK McINTYRE - (Wednesday at the Ritz" - (19 mins.) A very good farce, somewhat on the order of "Parlor, Bedroom & Bath". Helped along by excellent playing, especially the work of Mr. McIntyre, who is a comedian of genuine merit. Contains a lot of clever comedy situations and was a big laughing hit. POWERS & WALLACE - (20 mins.) This couple did very well with their singing and talking. Some quiet comedy is well handled and it is a little different than the usual man and woman singing turn. Got plenty of laughs and finished very strong. MRS. IRENE CASTLE - (21 mins.) Undoubtedly a very strong drawing attraction, pulling both from moving picture and dancing clientele. While the pictures and piano and song numbers by Hapfeld and Mrs. Castle created light interest her dancing, as usual, undoubtedly did all that was expected and received generous applause. Mrs. Castle has given her act beautiful stageing and it is a magnificent stage picture. OLSEN & JOHNSON - (19 mins.) A "nut" comedy riot. In addition to their own stuff they use several other people in the show for their finish, Frank Brown doing a musical number with the boys that proved a regular hurrah. It was a great comedy number to follow Mrs. Castle and scored accordingly. THE KITAROS - (9 mins.) The Japs did as well as usual, working in some comedy along with their other stuff and doing very well in the closing spot. GENERAL REMARKS - As was expected Mrs. Castle proved a big drawing card for us, bringing to the theatre many outside of the regular vaudeville patrons and with the very good comedy bill surrounding her the whole show was very satisfactory. CUTS "DUMMIES' - Thumbing the nose and the expression "A strain on the imagination.
