PROVIDENCE E. F. ALBEE FEBRUARY 6, 1922 The show as a whole is good. The weak spots are not particularly noticeable and the audiences seemed well pleased. It spite of the vaudeville opposition we opened to quite a little more business than we did with either Gertrude Hoffman or Bessie Clayton. CHARLES LOVENBERG ENOS FRAZERE - Mr. Frazere opens with a song imitating a Frenchman exceedingly badly done. Then he gets on the trapeze and devotes the most of his time to inane comedy none of which got a laugh. He does four wonderful feats on the trapeze. His final one is a thriller which sends him off to a big hand. The act runs 12 minutes. 3 minutes of which is exceedingly good and 9 minutes waste of time. LEW & PAUL MURDOCK - Eccentric dancers, quite good and made a hit. 8 minutes in one. J. C. MACK & COMPANY - In a comedy built on Mother Goose which has little bearing upon the story. It just fails to be a big act. Mack is quite a funny comedian and with the proper vehicle and the proper support would be a desirable quality in vaudeville. He got many laughs today but the act is not first class. 28 minutes full stage. DORIS DUNCAN - Miss Duncan went very well indeed at the afternoon performance and not so good at the night show. She was something of a disappointment to me. 18 minutes in one. ARNAUT BROTHERS - Well known act of acrobatics, playing of musical instruments and their comedy bird courtship. A very big hit. 14 minutes open full stage close in one. IDA MAY CHADWICK AND DID - Who scored her usual big hit that she makes in this house. 15 minutes in one. JOHN STEEL WITH JERRY JARNAGIN - Mr. Steel came, saw and conquered. No singer in this house has made the sensational success that he made. He held the stage for 28 minutes and left with the audiences demanding more. FENTON & FIELDS - This black face act was a strong comedy hit. 13 minutes in one. THE AEROPLANE GIRLS - Just a flash. The act means little. 7 minutes full stage.
