PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S APRIL 3rd, 2 "FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - (12 mins.) "Topics very good. The first answer in the prize drawing was shown and drew some little applause. FRANK SIDNEY & CO. - (8 mins.) A very neat novelty that did nicely in the opening spot. The boy does a variety of athletic feats and have a very clever dog. JEWELL & RAYMOND - (13 mins.) Two clever young girls, one doing a very good impersonation of a boy. Their songs and dances scored very well and they closed to a good hand. NEWPORT, PEARSON & NEWPORT - (13 mins.* This act was a very good repeater for us. We played it several months ago and it went just as well this time as on its first showing. A very good mixture of eccentric dancing and acrobatics, with a girl piano player assisting. Closed strong. GRACE NELSON - (15 mins.) Singing alone, having discarded her piano player, since she last appear here, she scored her usual hit. She was in excellent voice; her songs are well selected and rendered; she has a most attractive appearance and is very popular here. Closed to a big hand. ELSA RYAN in "Peg For Short" - (22 mins.) This has proven one of the best comedy sketches we have played and has held up each time shown here. Miss Ryan has a new man for her support and the sketch moved along to a good sized comedy hit, getting lots of laughs and closing to a good hand. SIGNOR FRISCOE - (19 mins.) Did very big with his Xylophone selections and worked up some comedy with the help of a couple of plants in the audience calling out for a variety of numbers. Closed big. DAPHNE POLLARD - (15 mins.) Just as big a laughing hit as when she first played here last summer. Doing the same routine of songs and getting big laughs and applause with each one. Closed very strong. GLENN & JENKINS - (17 mins.) One of the big applause hits of the bill went to their credit and they put over a great act in the next to closing spot. Got a lot of laughs with their comedy talk and their music also scored. Closed strong. FOUR READINGS - (9 mins.) Although we have played this act frequently it has never failed to score and it made an excellent act in the closing position on this bill. PATHE NEWS - (9 mins.) The pictures are very good, an improvement over the last few weeks. GENERAL REMARKS - An excellent show, well balanced with several big hits, well distributed and generally very well liked. CUTS DAPHNE POLLARD - Thumbing nose ELSA RYAN- Expression "God Bless my Soul".
