PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 8th, 2 FABLES & "TOPICS" - Fables this week just fair. "Topics" average very good. SAMSONE & DELILA - (7 mins.) One of the old style balancing acts with some very good tricks and it did very well in the opening spot. DOTSON - (14 mins.) This fellow was just as big a hit as he was the last time we played him, pulling down a riot of applause and getting a lot of laughs. He closed very big. WILFRED CLARKE & CO. in "Now What" - (14 mins.) Several years since we played Mr. Clarke and probably very few remembered the sketch but it is still a corking bit of farce and was a big laughing hit with our audience. It went big all the way and closed strong. CLAUDIA COLEMAN - (24 mins.) She gave us a very good act, introducing two or three new numbers and they were just as good as those she has used in the past. Her act was very well received and she closed to a big hand. THE COMEBACKS - (27 mins.) This act got over fine. Some of the members of the act are known here and were warmly greeted. The act got over on its merits and for a novelty of this kind scored solidly with our audience. NORTH & HALLIDAY - (24 mins.) This act still remains a real classic and the revival is very well played. It got a lot of laughs and closed to a big hand. MILDRED HARRIS - (21 mins.) She proved all that was expected of her, holding the attention of those who have known her on the screen as well as those attracted here by her reputation in the pictures. The playlet is light in order but serves very well to introduce Miss Harris to the speaking stage and she was cordially received. BAILEY & COWAN - (20 mins.) They have almost entirely rebuilt their act into a real comedy and song production, as well as a novelty and it was a bit hit in the next to closing spot. They have some good songs and a lot of good music and they put over all their numbers with a lot of "pep". A big applause hit from start to finish. Lou & Genevieve NORVELLES - (6 mins.) A man and woman in a very showy routine of tricks on the rings. The act is nicely dressed and staged and did very well in the closing position. PATHE NEWS - (5 mins.) Just an ordinary set of photos, with nothing particularly standing out. GENERAL REMARKS - A very good show with three or four of the features doing especially well and building up the average of the whole bill and Miss Harris creating interest among the followers of the screen.
