PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 22nd, 2 FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - (12 mins.) Fables good. "Topics" not quite as good as usual. THE FAYNES - (10 mins.) Did very well as an opener. The act is nicely staged and the man does some pretty clever contortion work. BARRETT & FARNUM - (10 mins.) A man and woman dancing team. Very steppers and their dancing brought them liberal applause. They also attempt some comedy talk of light quality. Closed to a good hand. EDWIN GEORGE - (15 Mins.) Used about the same material as on former visits but as usual he was a big hit, going as well as he has ever done here. SALLIE FISHER in "The Choir Rehearsal" - (18 mins.) Sometime since we played and it has always been a big hit for us, scoring again this time. Her company is probably not as good as on previous visits but the sketch is an excellent vehicle and it was very well received. JEAN GRANESE - (14 mins.) Being a local act and a strong favorite this act was one of the big hits of the show. They have some good songs and the comedy opening gives them a fine start. Closed strong. WILLIAM ROCK & Co. - (29 mins.) Despite the fact that Mr. Rock has been very ill he gave an excellent performance. His new act has two good-looking girls and was very well received. It consists of songs and dances and has been given the usual care in production that has marked Mr. Rock's acts in the past. Closed to a very good hand. ROME & GAUT - (11 mins.) Another local turn and a big laughing hit in the next to closing spot. Their eccentric dancing is a big factor in putting the act over and it closed to a big hand. ROLFE'S REVUE - (21 mins.) Did splendidly, going on at the matinee without a rehearsal. The instrumental music, high grade, and songs and dances built up the act to a very likeable number. Act was played number three after the first show and did even better in this spot, giving the whole show a boost. GENERAL REMARKS - With the change in the Rolfe act the whole bill furnished a very satisfactory show and there were two or three good sized laughing hits, well distributed. CUTS BARRETT & FARNUM - Omit use of word "block-heads" in referring to prohibitionists.
