Philadelphia, Pa. B. F. Keith's May 29, 2 AESOP'S FABLES & TOPICS OF THE DAY. Both good. VICTORIA & DUPREE. 6 min. Man and woman acrobatics and dancing. Nicely staged and dressed. Good routine of material and all done well. Did very well in the opening spot and is a useful act. HARRY & DENIS DU FOR. 15 min. The boys are excellent steppers and their dancing went over big. They also got laughs on their comedy talk although it could stand freshening up. Act very well liked and closed to a good hand. VAL HARRIS & CO. 15 min. Work in a special set, The girl with Harris is a good vocalist and Harris a clever comedian. He has a line of good chatter and the two finish with a song. Laughs were plentiful and the act gor over in very good dhape. WILL MAHONEY. 23 min. A regular panic, one of the biggest hits ever made by a monologist here. He is a "Nut" comedian of a new type. with a lot of new stuff and his burlesque dancing created a veritable riot. One of the big hits of the entire bill and a surefire comedy hit for any bill. AILEEN STANLEY. 16 min. With nearly all new songs she went over very big. Miss Stanley has a most engaging personality and gets her songs over in winning fashion. She sang five numbers and then made a little speech of thanks for the applause she received. BESSIE CLAYTON. 33 min. Just as big a hit as when she played here early in the season. Her act is unquestionably one of the greatest ever staged and surely "the" dance sensation of the season. Went over with a bang as it well deserved. ERNEST R. BALL. 13 min. Did exceptionally well in the next-to-closing spot following all the singing and the big Clayton act. Sang several new songs and his usual medley of his compositions. Went ove big and made a speech at the evening show. AN ARTISTIC TREAT. 7 min. Very pretty posing act. Subjects new, well presented and held them in nicely, getting several solid rounds of applause. PATHE NEWS. Very good selection of news pictures this week, better than we have had for two or three weeks. GENERAL REMARKS. Bessie Clayton proved an excellent repeater and drew well enough to give the week a fine start. It is one of the strongest name bills we have had in some time and a great running show from start to finish. -o-
