Philadelphia B. F. KEITH'S June 5th, 2 FABLES & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Fables very good and "Topics" up to the usual average, several of them getting good laughs. GAUTIER'S BRICKLAYERS - (9 mins.) A very good dog novelty. Animals are well trained and the act did very well in the opening spot, having a very good finish. WALSH & EDWARDS - A neat singing and dancing turn by a boy and girl. Both do solo dances that brought them good hands and they closed strong. (14 mins.) MAE & ROSE WILTON - (19 mins.) Their usual big hit. They are singing most of the songs they used here before but made each one of they score and they finished very strong. ROYAL GASCOIGNES - (20 mins.) Proved a very good act for this spot. He has filled it out a little by the use of some jokes, which he got a lot of laughs on and his juggling brought him plenty of applause. Finished very strong. YVETTE RUGEL - (17 mins.) She took Vivienne Segal's place on short notice and more than made good. Being a Philadelphia girl she is a strong favorite here but got over on her merits. She was in splendid voice and had a good selection of songs. Closed the show at the matinee but took her regular position in this spot at night and was a big hit. CHARLES (CHIC) SALE - (23 mins.) With just a few changes in his act he was his usual big hit and held the spot in great shape. VAN & SCHENCK - (21 mins.) All that was expected to them, a tremendous hit starting when they first stepped on the stage and lasting clean up to the finish of their last song, which they did with Schenck playing the piano in the pit. THE ANDRIEFF TRIO - (9 mins.) A very good dancing novelty by two men and a girl. Their style is different from other Russian dancing acts and they were well received. PATHE NEWS - (13 mins.) This week's reel contained the Abraham Lincoln Memorial pictures, which we showed last week and we changed to the Pathe Review Monday night. The latter proved very interesting and held the greater portion of our audience. GENERAL REMARKS - This was a great show, with several good drawing names, the substitution of Yvette Rugel for Vivienne Segal, who reported ill, having no effect and we opened to the biggest Monday in a long time. CUTS ROYAL GASCOIGNES - The expression "dirty stories" and "She keeps a chauffeur and hasn't any car."
