3 C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. JUNE 13, 1910. THE PELOTS. 14 min.F.S., close in one. Well known comedy acrobatic novelty. Makes a good opener. Pelot is a good comedian, getting a good many laughs for his clown stunts, particularly when catching on a fork held in the teeth apples thrown from the audience. Good closing hand. JOSEPHINE JOY. 13 min. in one. Miss Joy has a very sweet voice and makes a pretty picture. Three changes of costume. Her firs two songs did not hit so very strong, but the third, in which she gave an imitation of Fritzi Scheff, was most charmingly rendered and got a strong hand. WORLD & KINGSTON. 26 min. open in one., go to three and close in one. A medley of comedy, burlesque, eccentric dancing and acrobatics. Act well received throughout, making a big finish with the operatic selections. Miss Kingston makes a pretty appearance in her various fetching costumes, and World is an exceptionally good comedian. RALPH SMALLEY. 10 min. in one. Plays with brilliant technique and wonderful sweetness of tone, particularly in Schumann's "Traumeri" and an operatic aria encore. Big applause after each number and a strong close. TROVOLLO. 20 min.F.S., close in one. Carries set representing exterior of a country roadhouse. Woman assistant plays the part of Mrs. Newlywed with a manikin kid. Five characters, -- the bad chauffeur, the old major, the kid, the G.A.R. veteran and the boy on the dog. Line of talk bright as a whole, but needed pruning for our audiences. Closed well with the Teddy stunt, and the uniformed manikin boy on the trained dog. CHRISTMAS ON BLACKWELL'S ISLAND." 19 min. in 1 1/2. Same act as presented here before, with some new material interpolated in the way of songs and gags. Laughter and applause, sometime stopping the act. Closed strong. "DINKELSPIELS'S CHRISTMAS." 21 min.F.S. A sketch in Hobart's characteristic vein, full of bright lines and funny situations with a good story. The character of Dinkelspiel is well taken by Reinhold, and the support is excellent. The audience laughter heartily throughout, and gave good applause at the close. COOK & LORENZ. 24 min. in one. New to this house. Two men in tramp makeup. Original line of nonsense, varying with some piano-playing and eccentric dancing. Laughed all through the act and a good closing hand. A good act for a hard spot. DEHAVEN SEXTETTE. 20 min.F.S. Carry a very effective scene set, representing a foreign garden with lanterns of flowers. Same act as presented here before with some of the songs changed. The girls are all pretty and their three changes of costume very fetching. Good applause after each number and winds up the show with sprightly interest and a stunning picture. KINETOGRAPH. "Max Leads Them a Merry Chase." A good comedy film. GENERAL REMARKS. A show which violates every known rule of booking, containing nothing but music, comedy and dancing, being entirely without sight acts of any description, but it ran three solid hours and pleased every minute of the way. Perhaps the fact that we have advertised it as a strictly "musical comedy bill" may have had something to do with this. Gave the utmost satisfaction to a large audience. CUTS World & KINGSTON-Reference to"mother-inlaw" also expression in the song pertaining to same. TROVOLLO- Expression Go to H--- Oh you little Devil Oh good God One boy thank you. Your Welcome.
