BOSTON SHOW WEEK AUGUST 8, '10. (Monday afternoon.) R. G. Larsen. MR. AND MRS. DARROW. 15 minutes f.s. Very good opening act. Went well in this place. [BANCHU?] AND ALGER. 15 minutes in one. Two rather attractive girls one of whom can sing and the other a little light on voice. They make a number of changes, closing with a see-saw number in two which is somewhat of a novelty. But the act as a whole just gets by. ALEXANDROFF TROUPE. 10 minutes f.s. Russian dancers and singers. They are hardly as good as some troupes of the same kind we have had in years past, but filled the spot and is fair value for the money. AL CARLETON. 15 minutes in one. Carleton's appearance and his manner of delivery got the audience early, and to-day he went first rate. ANGELA DOLORES. 18 minutes f.s. Miss Dolores is playing "Cupid at Home," a comedy sketch in which Eleanor Gordon appeared here last season, and it must be confessed that Miss Dolores does not get as much out of the part as did Miss Gordon, leaving out the latter's popularity as a local favorite. KAUFMAHN BROTHERS. 15 minutes in one. Black face comedians who went big from the start. SERGEANT BRENNAN. Diabolo expert. 10 minutes f.s. Brennan has a good act, a decidedly novelty, and won considerable applause, but it is hardly an act to go down this far on the bill. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR. 18 minutes in one. It is a good many years since we played this quartette, and their stuff if pretty much the same, but they got plenty of laughs and went big. DOCTOR HERMANN. 22 minutes f.s. Hermann made a great showing but held the interest only fairly well this afternoon. Although the finish was as big a laughing feature here as elsewhere.
