C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW JULY 29, 1910. BARNES & KING. 13 min. F.S. This act makes a good opener for a summer show. Tricks for the most part are not new, but the man makes a good appearance and works well, and his comedian gives him good assistance. Closed with the billiard and ball trick, which has never been seen here before. WILLIAMS & SEGAL. 10 min. in one. Man and woman who make a pleasing appearance. Their singing is fair and their dancing on the mat is very exceptional. The woman is particularly expert and has a good stage presence. The man's dancing is quite remarkable. Closed very well. HAYES & JOHNSON. 23 min. F.S., close in one. Well known act and has been a favorite here twice before, Introduced some songs and some new patter, all of which went well. The costuming is very stunning and the close in one was particularly amusing. Finished very strong. BIRD MILLMAN TRIO. 12 min. F.S. This act is certainly a hit. Bird Millman's work on the wire is truly remarkable, and she is well supported by two women and a man, all of whom are very clever and help the act. Miss Millman introducing some humorous patter that is bright. Applause throughout and a very strong close. MARION GARSON. 9 min. in one. Well known here. Sang three songs acceptably. Good applause for each number and closed well. ANGELA DELORES & CO. 19 min. F.S. Play founded upon domestic infelicity owing to q wife who neglects her family for her club. Held the interest of the audience and got some scattered laughs. The finish is an amusing surprise and got a good closing hand. FELIX ADLER. 15 min. in one. First appearance in three years. Gave three or four impersonations, including German and Italian dialect. Well received and gave an encore. OLD SOLDIER FIDDLERS. 20 min. F.S., close in one. This is a novelty, and no mistake. The old gentlemen do not pretend to excel as violinists, but they get the sympathy of the audience right away and the patriotic sentiment which they bring with them and is everywhere evident. Scene represents a soldier's reunion at Gettysburg, and Col. Pattee is spokesman interspersing his remarks with some good war stories. The patriotic numbers received good applause and on the whole, the feature was a success. Closed in one to big applause, the audience standing to the national anthem. SEVEN RELFORDS. 7 min. F.S. Use no paraphernalia, but their work is rapid and brilliant. Well costumed and make good appearance. Some of their feats have never been seen here before and get strong applause. KINETOGRAPH. "Levi's Dilemma." Fairly good comedy film that just about gets by. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a good summer show with plenty of comedy and music and one excellent novelty in "The Fiddlers." It is also particularly strong in the acrobatic section. The excessive heat hurts business today, but there is promise of relief which will improve the situation at the box office.
