BOSTON SHOW WEEK AUGUST 15, '10. R. G. LARSEN. (Monday afternoon.) VITTORIA AND GIORGETTA. 10 minutes f.s. close in two. Unquestionably one of the very best opening acts that we have had in a long time. In fact, the work of these men on their hands is really wonderful, and would not hesitate to make them a feature of any bill. WARD, KLARE AND WARD. 20 minutes f.s. close in one. This team, although handicapped this afternoon by the loss of a trunk, went on and won the audience in great shape. It is a crackerjack act for three or four spot. MRS. W. E. ANNIS AND COMPANY. 18 minutes f.s. Aside from the notoriety attached to her name, Mrs. Annis has an act that will get by anywhere. In fact, more than get by for every number of it went big here to-day. PHIL AND HETTIE PETERS. 16 minutes in one. Very much the same as they have had for years, went first rate in this spot notwithstanding that a good deal of the stuff is very old. THE HORSE DEALER. 15 minutes f.s. My first judgement of "The Hors Dealer," when I saw it at Union Hill, that it was one of the funniest of acts, was fully borne out here to-day. There is no doubt about it, the element of novelty in this act is strong, the comedy now very much more Americanized, is faster, and the laughter was continuous and the close big. I do not think anybody is taking a chance on playing this act on the right kind of a bill. GASTON AND D'ARNAND. 20 minutes open and lose in one. This act is now in good shape for anything, notwithstanding the fact that it was marred somewhat by opening in one this afternoon. They got the audience right away and kept it going and finished big. JULIE RING AND COMPANY playing "THE WRONG ROOM." This is a very good comedy act and went well here this afternoon, although it was rather far down on the bill. Would get more out of it by putting it up. 18 minutes f.s. AVERY AND HART. 22 minutes in one. About the best of the colored teams that we have, by all odds, and went as big as ever, although much of the stuff is familiar. ROSE PITOHOF. 10 minutes f.s. open in one. This 15 year old girl created a sensation here by swimming to Boston Light, a feat that has baffled the strongest men swimmers for the last 25 years. It is 12 miles out into the ocean. and against all kinds of cross currents. She was in the water over six hours. She is a very small girl, rather plump and attractive looking, and when she went on the stage to-day her size and girlish appearance got the audience at the start. We built a splendid set, better than anything we have ever had for Kellermann or Hoffmann, she is working in a tank similar to Kellermann's. This afternoon she went big. Although it was very warm and muggy, we had a big audience, and to-night the house is jammed from top to Bottom. People standing on all floors. As far as outside booking is concerned, it is doubtful whether there is enough to justify it, expect the price at which she can be secured.
