C. E. Barns Philadelphia Show Sept. 5-1910 Myers & Rosa. 10 min. F.S. These people have improved very much since their last appearance. The mans work is clever, and Miss Rosa makes a very pretty appearance and does some clever stunts in rope-tying. Makes a good opener. FIELD BOYS 9 min. in One. Both appear in eccentric coon make-up. Their vocal work is fair, but their wooden-shoe dancing is very good. The finish after the Dixie dance won the crowd. HENRY HORTON & CO. 12 min F.S. One of the best written Rube sketches we have ever played,-consistent, full of good situations and abundance of humor. Held the interest of the audience throughout with laughter and applause. A very clever act and pleased our audience. Good applause at the finish. MASTER HOLE 8 min in ONE. Second appearance. Good advance hand. Thee selections, all very well received. His is the stage presence of a veteran, although a little stilted. GOLEMAN'S CATS AND DOGS. 18 min. F.S. This is a mighty well trained cat and dog a act. It proved very novel and clever, particularly the work of the cats which are hard animals to train. Their various tricks got a good hand, comedy introduced well appreciated. The work of the cats and dogs when the trainer was off the stage, was especially applauded. Closed strong. ADELE RITCHIE. 18 min in 1/1/2 Advance hand. Miss Ritchie was well received by the holiday crowd and sang six selections, the last two being encores after big applause. The songs differed from one after another only slightly, but were in her own particular vein and all of them pleased. She has a remarkably good accompanist on the piano who helps her work a great deal. Miss Ritchie is a Philadelphia girl and will certainly draw the crowd here. GEO. HART'S "BATHING GIRLS" 21 min open in one, go to F.S. close with stereopticon drop in two. Second appearance of this act with practically a new cast. Ran swiftly and smoothly up to the surprise finish which got a big hand. The musical numbers are very good, and the girls are all pretty, The comedian, Glenwood White, helps to carry out the act to success. Held the spot in good shape with a holiday crowd. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR. 20 min in One. For a rousing comedy act, all that could be desired. Same act as presented here before. Good advance hand. Varied their material somewhat. All of it is good and took very strong with our audience. Closed immensely. "OUR BOYS IN BLUE" 12 min F.S. This is simply a crackerjack closing feature. Their work is swift and precise and it gets the audience right from the start, and holds them up to the grand patriotic finish. For a holiday bill, This could not be excelled as a closer. KINETOGRAPH. "Inside the Earth". A very good Jules Verne french fantasy with colored effects. GENERAL REMARKS Any patron that thinks he has not double his money out of this bill could not be discovered in this afternoons audience. The show went like wilfire, even with an audience that was made up of laregly of out-of-towners. With our regular audience, it will go even stronger. An ideal bill for a holiday crowd.
