Report of PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of October 17, 1910. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr. The show was materially weakened by the loss of the Gardner Crane act, the Bowser, Hinkle co. in no way replacing it. In my original layout I had Bergere's Players up the early part of the bill, giving it comedy there and figuring on the Gardner Crane act for strength later, which I believe would have made a great difference in the show. LINA PANTZER Wire act, assisted by a man who does some acrobatic work. A good act especially for an opening spot. 9 min. F. S. MABLE WAYNE Songs and piano playing. Miss Wayne just gets by and is worth what we are paying her and no more. She is inclined to lean towards suggestive songs and I was obliged to change one completely and some of the lines in another. 15 min. in one. BOWSER, HINKLE CO. A sketch called "Superstition." Fairly good act but not what we wanted for this bill as we needed more comedy in this spot. 21 min. F. S. SNOWDEN & BENHAM In their song and dance act; after the style of Brice & King, but not nearly so good. 18 min. own plush drop in 1 1/2. EDWARDS, VAN & TIERNEY It was almost a tie between this act and Jack Wilson Co. as to which were the hit of the show, both of them going exceedingly strong. 21 min. open in two, close in one. VALERIE BERGERE'S PLAYERS A good comedy sketch that held down this spot fairly well. In an earlier position it would have been a much bigger hit no doubt. 14 min. F. S. JACK WILSON & CO. The same old story. The biggest kind of a hit. 30 min. in one. MORISINI'S DOGS & PONIES A very pretty at that was evidently well liked. F. S. 15 min. CURTIS AEROPLANE Preceded by flat slides a motion pictures with a very interesting lecture. Held the audience in good shape and a great many went on the stage at the conclusion to view the aeroplane closer. I believe it will draw some money. 20 min. F. S.
