Union Hill 2. FIDDLER & SHELTON, Clever Colored Comedians. One of the best colored teams I have ever played. The men are clean-cut, with fine personalities and get their stuff over in good shape. They have a splendid routine of patter and song and Fiddler's impersonations are excellent. I want to commend this team for the excellent manner in which they read lines. They display more intelligence in their work than is usually found in a colored team. Olio drop in 1. Time 18 min. GEO. M. COHAN'S "The Governor's Son." 15 people. This is a one-act version of Cohan's three act musical comedy, produced by Arthur Klein and J.M. Welsh, the latter general manager of the Cohan and Harris enterprises. Vaudeville, in this act, has a musical comedy that will be a headline novelty in any house in the country. It is full of comedy, the songs are catchy, the girls are pretty and the dancing by Rosie Green is a feature in itself. For 35 minutes this afternoon the act had the audience screaming with laughter at the ludicrous mixups. The cast is good, with possibly one exception-the man playing Benjamin Curtis. I do not know whether it was nervousness over a first performance but Wm. F. Ryan, who plays the part, does not get his lines over intelligently. As the act depends for its success upon rapidity of action I think it would be well for the owners of the act to make a change in this character as soon as possible. Own set in 3. Time 35 min. NOTE Despite the fact of three girl acts on the bill this is one of the most pleasing shows we have ever had in the house and I look for a record-breaking week. REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK OCTOBER 17, 1910. W. W. PROSSER. ANITA DIAN'S MONKEYS: Nice appearing woman with a very acceptable offering of monkeys. While they do nothing remarkable, the act is pleasing and holds attention. Had a fairly strong finish. 11 minutes, palace in 3. [HILDA?] HAWTHORNE: Woman ventriloquist. Took a few minutes to catch on, but after doing so had no trouble and finished very strong. 13 minutes, olio in 1. [SOWRODE?] & MULVEY: In a comedy skit, "Billie and the Actress". A crazy sort of an act with a little bit of everything, and all of the rough house order. Got a lot of laughs and finished with a big scream. Took several bows. C. D. F., 13 minutes/ ETHEL GREEN: Singing comedienne. Received an ovation at her entrance and with every song went bigger. Was compelled to apologize for not having more material. A distinct hit. Olio in 1, 25 minutes. THE LITTLE STRANGER: Dramatic sketch. Three men, which hold the attention all the way through. Story proved to be of interest and was well told by the participants. Finished strong. Special in 3, 16 minutes. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR: A laugh all the way through. 20 minutes, street in 1. FRED ST. ONGE & CO.: Proved to be a very good cycle act, straight work of the woman going well and the comedy of the two men finding favor. Had a hard show to follow but got away with it all right with a good strong finish. 13 minutes, garden in 5. MOVING PICTURE: O. K.
