REPORT OF COLONIAL, LAWRENCE, WEEK OF JAN. 9, 1911. John F. Adams, Critic. Paul Stephens - "King of the Unsupported Wire". The work that Stephens does on the slack wire and pole is marvelous, he has got only one leg the other being cut off below the knee. Made a good opening act. 7 min. full stage. Monroe Hopkins and Co. - presenting their novelty "Travelling" good stuff presented in a very clever manner and went very good. 18 min. in one and two. Cooper and Robinson - colored comedians. singing and talking. Went very good. 16 min. in one. Ward [Klare?] and Ward - in the sketch "Twin Fists" a good comedy sketch with some singing mixed in, went very good. 23 min. full stage. close in one 3 min. Bert Levy - The Artist. Went very good. 12 min. full stage. Elfie Fay - The Belle of Avenue A. She got a good many laughs. But did not seem to be any too strong in this spot. 15 min. in one. Geo. B. Reno and Co. - presenting "The Misfit Army" a scream from start to finish, went very big. 16 min. open in one close full stage. Motion Pictures. O. K. REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW FOR WEEK OF JANUARY 9, 1911. W. W. Prosser. ZARA-CARMEN TRIO: 2 women, 1 man in baton swinging and hoop rolling. This is a very pretty act, being very tastefully dressed and equipped with heavy black draperies. The paraphernalia is all in good taste and the work of all the performers is well done. Was very well liked all the way through, scoring a moderately strong finish. 9 minutes, special in 4. RUBY RAYMOND & BOYS: Young woman and two young men in a singing and dancing act that fared moderately well throughout. There are some very good spots in the work and some that are a little tiresome. Their efforts were fairly well received, giving them a fairly strong finish. 14 minutes, street in One. HAYES & JOHNSON: In "A Dream of Baby Days". This pair won a lot of laughs during the early portion of their act and were very favorably received up to the point where the moving picture is introduced. From there on they just about get by, with a moderate finish. 29 minutes, C. D. F. in 3, finish in 1. THREE CALIFORNIA GIRLS: These young women do a straight musical act, their work consisting of slections on violin, 'cello and piano. One is a vocalist. Each and every number was given the closest attention and they were rewarded with liberal applause after every number. The act is refine and thoroughly musical. Finished strong. Palace set in 4. 14 minutes. JAMES H. CULLEN: Sang a number of songs in all of which he scored heavily. Very well liked throughout. 20 minutes, olio in 1. CLAUD & FANNIE USHER: In "Fagan's Decision". He received a reception on entering, as did Miss Usher on her entry. The act scored heavily all the way through, achieving a strong finish. A genuine hit. 31 minutes, C. D. F. in 3. JACK WILSON & CO.: Same big comedy hit as before, gaining many laughs and keeping the audience in good humor from start to finish. Left nothing to be desired. Strong finish. Street in 1, 23 minutes. ROBERT DE MONT TRIO: Two men, one woman, in a novelty acrobatic act, "Hotel Turnover". This act made a very favorable impression, winning applause throughout and finishing very strong. 8 minutes, C. D. F. in 3. MOVING PICTURES: O. K.
