B. F. KEITH's HIPPODROME. Jan 30th 1911 Cleveland, Ohio. N. S> Hastings. SANSON & DEHLILAH. Time 9. Man and woman. C. D. F. Juggling and novelty acrobatics. This is a great act full of real originality. It is far too good for an opener. MONROE-HOPKINS-LOLA AXTELL CO. 2 men, 1 woman. Time 17. They present a travesty on the discomforts of traveling in 3 scenes - two in 2 special back drops, closing in 1. Part of the comedy is good, but mostly it is very flat. The man is a fine eccentric dancer. The idea of the skit is good but the people lack the ability to make a "go" of it. WALSH, LYNCH & CO. 2 men , 1 woman. F.S. special. Time 23. Rural sketch called "Huckins' Run." Some very bright lines,w ell received. Generally satisfactory. OSCAR LORAINE. Time 17. Special interior in 2 1/2. Loraine is a violinist who gives impressions in style of playing, make up and costumes of great violinists. Injects plenty of comedy into some of his work. This hit of the show. HENRY CLIVE. Assisted by Mai Sturgis Walker. In 1. Time 14. Burlesque expose of magic, telepathy etc. A hit. EDWIN ARDEN & CO. In "Captain Velvet." 2 en, 1 woman. Time 21. Interior. Although advertised as the feature of the show, this act is a great disappointment. There may be two great reasons for this. First the size of the house may handicap. Secondly, the memory of the splendid work of Bijou Fernandez in this role is still fresh in the minds of our patrons. At any rate applause at the close was perfunctory. The woman principal overacts and is unconvincing in a part that demands great talent. Arden could scarcely be heard at times. The sketch itself is immense, but demeans better presentation. ALBERT F. HAWTHORNE and FRANK A. BURT. In 3 special back drop. Time 20. A military travesty and dialogue. Rather stupid and rough. One good eccentric dance is about the only feature worth mentioning. TASMANIAN VAN DIEMAN TROUPE. 6 women. F. S. Time 9. Acrobatics and whirling-butterfly aerial work like the Curzon sisters. A pleasing feature with no especial points of originality or unusual interest. PHOTOPLANE "DAYLIGHT" MOTION VIEWS.
