Report of PROVIDENCE SHOW, Week of February 6, 1911. Chas. Lovenberg, Manager. The show plays exceedingly well, much better in fact than it looks on paper. It might be called a show of hits. ELDORA One of our old reliable jugglers who comes along with his act in a new dress, appearing now in a naval uniform instead of the old-fashioned tights. He has a comedy assistant who gets considerable laughs out of his part of it. 18 Min. F. S. Can close in One. JENNINGS & RENFREW Parody singers. Did very well in this spot. I was lead to believe that they were to work in white-face so got them on the bill with a couple of other black-face acts. The audience didn't seem to notice this, however, in the acts that followed them. I am having them open in show in order to split this up. 13 Min. in One. RUSSELL & SMITH'S MINSTRELS This old-fashioned act made good most decidedly, although handicapped this afternoon by Mr. Russell's absence on account of illness. In spite of that they made a hit. Expect him on tonight or tomorrow when it should go very big. 23 Min. in Two. Short close in One. 1 Min. [DEIRO?] Accordion player. A real big hit. 15 Min. in One. WILL ARCHIE & CO. This act was a little of a disappointment. Archie is undoubtedly clever and the two girls are attractive and have enough ability for all purposes, but his vehicle is not strong enough. He got by all right without offending anybody. Got some applause but was not a hit as compared with other acts on the bill. 22 Min. Open F. S. Can close in One. Mme. ADELAIDE NORWOOD Prima donna soprano. To say that Mme. Norwood. made a hit would be to put it most mildly. The applause was simply terrific and I didn't expext much from the afternoon crowd with our popular price balcony, but both balconies "ate it alive." At the night show she should be a sensation. 12 Min. in One. CLAUDE & FANNY USHER In their well-known act "Fagin's Decision," which scored as well as usual. 30 Min. F. S. NICHOLS SISTERS A reliable act. Held the spot satisfactorily. 15 Min. in One. CAMILLE TRIO Comedy bar act. A good lively closing to a quite good vaudeville show. 8 Min. F. S. DAYLIGHT MOTION PICTURES Go just as well as they have been in the past few weeks.
