REPORT ON COLUMBUS SHOW WEEK FEB. 20, 1911. W. W. PROSSER. THE COVENTRYS: 2 men, 1 woman, in a novelty musical act consisting of work on xylophone, French horns, chimes, etc. They play very well and make a nice appearance. The act was pleasing all the way through and it finished moderately strong. 12 min., special set in 3. HATHAWAY, KELLEY & MACK: Young man and two young women in a variety singing and dancing act. Some of their work is good, some only fair. All in all they get along first rate and finished moderately strong. Not a hit but fairly pleasing. 15 minutes, olio in One. DOLAN & LENHARR: In "Some Mind Reader". This is a comedy sketch built around the idea of the feminine mind reader and her manager. The act is an excellent laughing number all the way through. Dolan impersonates an investigator, supposedly a member of the audience, who gets into the story for the purpose of seeing whether or not the mind reading is the real article. There are a lot of comedy lines and laughs galore. A peculiar feature of the act is that the audience thoroughly enjoys it and yet does not really know whether it is a "kid" or a real exhibition of second sight. Went big all the way through and finished strong. 25 minutes, palace in 3. LOU ANGER: "The German Soldier". His dialect monologue went very well from beginning to end. He won a lot of laughs, held the attention all the way through and finished strong. Street in One, 14 min. LOVENBERG'S "OPERATIC FESTIVAL": This well known act made an excellent impression, each number scoring, and the finale being strong. No fault to find. 28 minutes, specials in 4. JOLLY, WILD & CO.: Two men, one woman in a variety skit, "First Aids to the Melancholy". The woman does a "straight", one man comedy, the other an English "Johnnie". The work consists of singing, talking and piano playing, all of which is good. The act held the attention from the very beginning and made a most favorable impression throughout. Finished strong. 18 minutes, conservatory in One. THE SENSATIONAL BOISES: A most excellent casting act consisting of three men and one woman. Executed tricks each of which got over in great shape. The people are very tastefully dressed and the act all in all is decidedly worth while. Finished strong. 8 minutes, garden in 5. MOVING PICTURE: O. K. NOTE: Owing to Jolly & Wild arriving late we were compelled to play Lou Anger 4th and the act mentioned. The position of these acts will be reversed.
