C. E. BARNS. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. MARCH 17, 1913. ROSE & ELLIS. 10 min.F.S. Carry their own drop representing the interior of a circus tent. Man and woman, the men working straight, the woman clown comedy. Some of the best barrel-jumping ever seen here. Good applause and closed well. BILL K. WELLS. 10 min. in one. Good line of material put over with lots of dash and spirit in Hebrew dialect. Received some laughter and applause and closed well. All right in the upper half of the bill. MADDEN & FITZPATRICK. 24 min.F.S. This is a very good sketch and mingles mirth and pathos in an original manner. Could hold a much stronger spot on the bill with credit, and was well applauded. Closed strong. KINETOPHONE. 13 min. Continues to be the feature of the bill and each one of the films received good applause. THURBER & MADISON. 16 min. in one. Man and woman well known on the circuit. Much of their material was given here before, but a good deal of it was new. Make a fine appearance and put their line of patter over in good style. The satire on vaudeville, including the eccentric dance, closed the act to big applause. MARIE McFARLAND & MADAME ? 13 min.F.S. Made a very fine impression, both women have superb voices, and in honor of St. Patrick's Day, introduced two Irish melodies which got voer in great shape. Made a very strong close. QUINLAN & RICHARDS. 17 min. This is the same old act that was played so long by Quinlan & Mack. It was demonstrated easily this afternoon that the act is no longer a novelty, and had it not been for the fact that Vic Richards is so well known locally, doubt whether they would have been able to hold this spot. Just about got by but would not care to play it again. AMELIA BINGHAM & CO. "Big Moments from Great Plays." 36 min. Gave scenes from "Joan of Arc" and "Mme. Sans Gene." Both of them were very impressive and held the interest of the audience from start to finish. "Joan of Arc" was particularly brilliant, being gorgeously presented and never having been seen here before. Immense applause of the close and Miss Bingham was compelled to respond with a little speech. her support is all that could be desired. A great feature. DEIRO. 14 min. Absolutely the greatest in his line. Every number received strong applause and he was compelled to give an encore. Held this hard spot in excellent shape. BUCKLEY'S ANIMALS. 8 min. The funniest animal act that we have ever had in this house. In fact, it was a scream all the way through, the roller-skating bear taking first honors for the big laugh. A great act for the children. KINETOGRAPH. "French Naval Manoeuvers" and "The Chaffinch and Her Family." Both excellent films. GENERAL REMARKS. We advertised this as a "Spring Festival Bill" and the show made good our claims for it. Starting in with capacity this afternoon, we expect to beat the Holy Week "bogie" to a frazzle. CUTS QUINLAN & RICHARDS. Expression "There's more on the chair than there is in the bed." HARRY MADISON. Word "God."
