HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. WEEK OF MAR.3I, I9I3. TUESDAY NIGHT'S SHOW Jos. R. Smith. POPE AND "UNO"---- Man and a dog presenting many tricks of an amusing nature. When the dog appears he is dressed as a woman. He is undressed soon down to the corsets, this creating a laugh. The act closes with a scene in a bedroom. The dog is dressed in pajamas and after bidding him good night the man walks off. he kneels against the bed, as though saying his prayers and then hops in and pulls the covers over him. Very fair opening act. Time of act I2 min. KELLER AND KERR---- Two men, one plays a piano and the other gives imitations of birds and sings two songs. They also do a whistling duet. The act went fair. C.D.F. I0 min. MURPHY AND FRANCES----Man and woman, colored, who sing and do some eccentric dancing. They have a humorous dialogue. The act went very well. In one I9 Min. THREE KEATONS---- This well known act makes its third appearance here and went as well as ever. F.S. 22 Min. INTERMISSION---- LORRAINE AND STILLMAN---- Man and a woman. He plays the violin and she sings, both making three changes of costume. The act went good. In one I6 Min. "ALIAS MR. ROSEBERRY", Presented by Fred. A. Le Duke and Company. Two men and a woman. Scene library. The plot deals with three theives, each a stranger to the others, who enter the Roseberry home to rob the safe of a handsome pearl necklace. The first theif, dressed in evening clothes enters and is working at the safe when the second theif, a second story man enters the room. Theif NoI hides behind the portieres and No.2 starts working on the safe. He is surprised by No.3, a woman, who enters and takes No.2 to be Mr. Roseberry's butler. He gives her the impression that he is and proceeds to act the part. At her order he leaves the room to get her some refreshments. As her back is turned No.I tries to sneak out of the room.The woman sees him and he being in evening clothes she thinks he is Mr. Roseberry. She tells him she is out for a little adventure and as she calls him Mr. Roseberry he decides to play the part. She begs him to show her the pearl necklace she has read about in the newspapers. He tells the butler to get it from the safe. The butler does so and hands it to alias Mr. Roseberry. When the woman finishes gazing it at it No.I drops it in a sugar bowl and when his back is turned the woman removes it and replaces it with a fake. The butler then takes the good one from the [vase?] on the mantlepiece where the woman had put it and he pockets it. After a little comedy with wine drinking the woman leaves and carries the empty [vase?] in which he had dropped the necklace away as a souvenir. When theif No.I finds his necklace is gone and the imitation in its place he is furious, but the butler gives it to him for $1,000 which No.I gives him, but the butler discovers the money is counterfeit and from a letter lying on a table No.I learns the necklace was only an imitation after all and that the original is locked in a safe deposit vault. The act is novel and well presented. It went very good. C.D.F. I8MIN. DUNBAR AND TURNER-- Man and woman, sing several numbers, do some eccentric dancing and make three costume changes. The act went very good. In one I6 min. TOM DAVIES TRIO-- Motoring in Mid-Air, a novel , thrilling, sensational act that went good. F.S. 7 Min. PHOTOPLANE----Satisfactory.
