HUDSON THEATRE, UNION HILL, N.J. WEEK 20, 1913. Joseph R. Smith. TWO ALFREDS---- Two men, acrobats and head and hand balancers. They wear Mexican costumes of pretty design and do some remarkable feats of strength and balancing. Without a word of doubt this is one of the very best acts of its kind that ever played this house. It went very good. F.S. 10 min. JACK BOYCE---- Singing comedian who wears frock coat and silk hat. He has a humorous monologue and some novel songs. The act went very fair. In one 14 min. SEVEN MISCHIEF MAKERS---- Four men and three girls. Scene a schoolroom. There is much comedy between the old German teacher and the pupils who at different times sing and dance. The act went very good. Time of act 24 min. HAYES AND ALTOINT---- Two men in a comedy act. One of the men is a midget and plays the part of a baby while the other is the careworn father who attempts to amuse the baby by doing some high kicking. C.D.F. Went very well. Time of act 14 min. INTERMISSION---- CUMMINGS AND GLAYDINGS--- Man and woman who sing and dance. They open with both dressed as men in evening clothes. After one song the girl returns wearing a pretty gown. They sing two more numbers. She makes three costume changes and he makes two. The sing sweetly and get everything over well. The act went very well. Two special drops in one. Time of act 12 min. KINGSLEY-BENEDICT AND COMPANY in "Ancestors". Four men and a woman. Scene, a living room. A young fellow and girl are in love and want to get married but the girl's father objects. He wants to know something about the ancestors of the boy before he gives his consent. When the young fellow is unable to answer questions concerning the cause of death of his ancestors the girl's father telephones to the boy's father and when he learns the causes of death he refuses to give his consent. The act concludes when the boy and girl admit they have already been married two weeks and further argument is useless. The act only went fair. Time of act 16 min. CLARK AND VERDI---- Two men who impersonate Italians, one a politician and the other a laborer looking for a city job. They have an original and witty dialogue, sing a song, dance and have a very laughable fight. The act went very good. In one 12 min. "THE LADIES MAN" with Will J. Ward presented by Gus Edwards. Seven girls and three men. This act is a condensed musical comedy with the girls doing small bits of imitations of well known Broadway stars. Ward sings, dances and plays the piano. The other two men act as waiters and bellboys and do a song and dance turn. The girls make two costume changes. There are two scenes, the first being a stage entrance and the second a roof garden. The girls are pretty, have good voices and talented. Ward is clever and a good singer. Everything is put over well the act being one of the best Edwards has ever produced. It went very good. Special scenery. Time of act 30 min. HUDSONGRAPH--- O.K. Note---Changed Hayes and Altoint to number three position and the Mischief Makers to number four after the Monday matinee.
