B. F. KEITH'S HIPPODROME Week of Oct. 20, 1913 Cleveland, Ohio McRae & Clegg - - 7 minutes in 4. Garden. A young woman working straight and an eccentric male comedian. Both do some fast and exceedingly clever bicycle work which gives a real start to a very good bill. (Columbus) Murphy & Frances - - 14 minutes in 1. Street. A man and woman. Colored. The woman is a foil for a good dancing comedian, but her singing could be eliminated. (Syracuse) Kathleen Clifford - - 14 minutes in one. Special shadowgraph drop. This dainty impersonator does four numbers, making her changes in such a way that the shadowgraphs of same are seen on the screen by audience. Her "boy" makeups are perfect and her songs well received. (Chicago) Frances McGinn & Co - - 20 minutes in C.D.F. Three men in a very theatric sketch. An inconsistent attempt to show up the corrupt methods employed by N. Y. police Dept. The work of McGinn and the surprise finish do much to get it "over". McGinn deserves a better sketch and better support. (Toledo) Stepp, Goodrich & King - - 18 minutes in 1. Olio 3 young men, harpist, pianiste and vocalist. One of the best acts ever seen here. Real music, real comedy and clean methods caused this act to "stop the show" at both performances. (Syracuse) The Red Heads - - 52 minutes of the best musical comedy ever offered in this city. James B. Carson, nine stunning red headed girls and three other principals. Red headed girl leads the orchestra. Act carries a special set in 3. Book is far above the average. Acting, singing and dancing of entire company is beyond criticism. The act combines all the elements of beauty, spectacle, smart dialogue and tuneful music. Carson is a comedian who gets genuine laughs from every line he utters. Stuart Jackson, Eleanor Sutter, Helen DuBois and Dorothea Sadlier, in the other principal roles are very acceptable. This act has created more favorable comment in 24 hours in press and on the street than any vaudeville act of the past several years. (Syracuse) Charles & Fannie Van - - 15 minutes in 1. Street. Another of the many acts depending upon "kidding" their own act for laughs. The funniest part of the act is a supposed strike on the musicians in which they all don funny shaped hats and start to walk out. Considering the fact that they follow the Red Heads they get "over" in a very satisfactory manner. (Toledo) The Three Alex - - 7 minutes in 4. Woods. 3 men in new and original aerial stunts. Carry a great deal of special apparatus and hold attention throughout. A splendid closing act on the best bill of the season. PATHE'S WEEKLY
