I.,[/preprinted] Report on acts playing THe Scenic Temple,Week of October 20,1913. Seen by CC.,McNally. Stanley James and Compay. Sketch"Mr. Bixby's Baby" Two women and one man. Full stage,C.D.F. The sketch has a fair plot, and causes any laughs. Not much of a hand at the finish. 17 minutes. A fair act. Rae Eleanor Ball. Violin virtuouso. Works 14 minutes in one.Miss Ball has great brilliancy and technique,and makes a charming appearance. Her numbers are as follows. I.Sextette from Lucia-by violin unaccompanied, to give the impression of two violins playing. 2. Gon Conagh-Irish Fantasie Miss Ball's own composition, to describe the Banshee cry. 3. Popular melodies. Encore-Annie Laurie. This encore is rendered wonderfully, and on the whole,Miss Ball is the best woman violinist that ever played this house. Hit. McMahon,Diamond,and Clemence. Singing,Russian and clog dancing,and whistling. The feature ofthe act is he scarecrow dance by one ofthe girls,which is very good. One,two,and back to one. Two girls and one man. Very well costumed. One of the girls is a very good singer. A good act,and well received. Gordon and Rica. Man and woman. Full stage,14 minutes. Trick and fancy bicycle riding, singing,dancing while skipping rope,and straight,dancing on bicycle, and comedy. A most versatile couple. Went big. Report on acts playing The Scenic Temple,Week of October 23,1913. Seen by .L.McNally. Twisto. Contortionist. Works 7 minutes in one. He does some very good work, twisting himself into all sorts of positions. A very clever act, and fairly well received at the matinee. Went better at night. Prince and Deerie. Man and woman. Work in one,14 minutes. Singing, talking,and comedy. The woman, working straight,has a fair voice,and the man as a comedian does well. A fair act. Well received at the matinee. Went good at night. Boothby and Everdeen. Man and woman. The man accompanies the woman's songs on the piano and sings one comic song,which is good, himself. Miss Boothby, who is an old Pawtucket favorite,having been seen at a local theatre at the head of a st ock company is very clever,and renders several comic and serious songs very well. She is also a good whistler,and a fair dancer. The act is quite a novelty,and was very well applauded at the matinee. was very well received. Frederick V.Bowers and Co. One woman(white),one colored boy,one colored girl,one bulldog, one man who leads orchestra in pit,and Mr. Bowerw s. Mr. Bowers has a pleasing voice,although he is not seen quite enough in the act. Act opens by Mr. Bowers, accompanied by negro boy, as porter, come up from audience to stage. Mr. Bowers sings his song,"The Songs of the U.S.A.",which is well reeived. Then the act goes in special set in two,where Mr. Bowers and the woman singing "There's A Girl In The Heart Of Maryland" Colored boy then does a very good dance. Act goes back to one, where Mr. Bowers sings a song with all lights out,using a pocket electric flashlight. Back to ful lstage, where woman does a veyr pretty dance. Comedy business by colored girl and boy. Back to one. Song by Mr. Bowers. Back to full stage. Grecian Dance by woman in red fleshings and veil. Closes with coedy business by all hands. Very well received at the matinee. Carries four drops,and some special scenery. Runs 18 minutes. This is a very good act,having a little of everything in it. At night the act was a big hit.
