96 96 Boston Show, week of Dec. 8, 1902. (Keating) Stereopticon, 3 shows, 12 min. in one -- Good selection of views. The Lucados, 3 shows, 12 min. full stage -- THis is a balancing and equilibristic specialty by a man who is assisted by a woman, the latter principally serving to fill out the stage picture. There is nothing remarkable in the act, as it is purely and exhibition of strength. The Folly Trio, 3 shows, 20 min. open full stage, close in one. Two men and a woman in a Dutch comedy sketch, which largely runs to dialogue. It is just a fair three-a-day turn. Frank Buoman, 3 shows, 13 min. in one -- This man does card tricks and finishes with a canary bird transformation form a paper bag to a cage. there is little finish to the act, and the tricks are all commonplace. Andraessen Brothers, 2 shows, 16 min., full stage -- Fair acrobatic turn, but not equal to that of the Decourcey Bros, or Bright Brothers. Nugent and Lynch, 3 shows, 12 min. in one -- Two young fellows in blackface songs and dances. It is one of those old style acts that are pretty well out of date, and the men are not good singers, and only fair dancers. Cadieux, 3 shows, 9 min., full stage -- Bounding wire performer, and a very good one. He lacks the style of Caceido. If we had never seen the latter, Cadieux's act would probably be considered great. W. F. Denny, 2 shows, 12 min. in one -- Descriptive vocalist, and the only one on the stage today who is doing the class of work that made Tony Pastor famous. He went very well with the balconies, but got little applause from the floor. Rossow Midgets, 2 shows, 10 min., full stage -- Usual exhibition of strength, and burlesque boxing finish. Went very well with all parts of the house. Clarence E. Billings, 2 shows, 15 min. in one -- Monologue singing comedian. Had a lot of original stuff, and went quite strong, although he was noticeably nervous, this being his first appearance here. He gives promise of developing into a first class character comedian. Snyder & Buckley, 2 shows, 22 min., open full stage, close in one -- Comedy musicians. They went about as well as the last time, the big hit of of their act being the finish. Lena Merville, Sydney Booth and Marion Elmore, 2 shows, 17 min., full stage -- Presenting the farcical sketch "The Two Juliets", which created considerable laughter and finished fairly strong. Charlie Rossow, 2 shows, 10 min. in one -- The smaller of the Midgets, made up as a soubrette, and singing three ballads. He went fairly well, but not as strong as he has on previous occasions. Johnson, Davenport and Lorella, 2 shows, 12 min., open full stage, close in one -- Playing their old sketch, "The Farmer and the Foot Ball Players," which went with laughter and applause. It is pretty near time this trio got some new material. Cole and Johnson, 2 shows, 20 min., open in three, close in one -- The big hit of the show; got a big reception when they came on, and were encored for every song. There is no doubt they can fill the four weeks originally laid out for them without any trouble. Morris' Ponies, 2 shows, 17 min., full stage -- A capital act of its kind. I think it is more interesting for juveniles than any other sort of an animal turn. In the last place in the bill, next to the biograph, it held the audience excellently, although the original schedule had been over run some 15 min. Comment: There is something lacking about the show which it is pretty difficult to decide on. It may work up better with a trifely rearrangement, and with an audience that is not so blase as that which assembled on Monday afternoon. If we were governed at all by the manner in which it went this afternoon, we would probably come to the conclusion that we had a bad show. As it is, it can be classed as fair, and it has not panned out nearly so well as it looked on paper. Biograph -- 4 shows, 15 min. in one -- Fair list of pictures, the two best being retained from last week's selection. Keith's Orchestra, -- Two overtures, 5 min. -- Selections of popular airs.
