131 COOK OPERA HOUSE ROCHESTER, N.Y., WEEK DEC. 22 1903 ACT TIME, min. SET HOUNG TOON & HOUNG CHET 12 full stage Two Chinese jugglers who perform wonderful feats of ball passing and throwing without the aid of the hands. Hollow wicker balls and glass balls abour six inches in diameter are used. Splendid novelty and goes well with our audiences. WILFRED CLARKE & CO 19 full stage Four people presenting "In the Biograph." Second time here, and while the act has been brightened up considerable, the cast is not as good as before. However, the entire act goes better, but don't think it draws any money. YORKE & ADAMS 18 all in one First time here in three years and of course their material is all new to audiences. Has made our patrons laugh more heartily than any acts we have played lately. The act certainly draws money. MELVILLE & STETSON 14 all in one This act is a positive imposition, as outside of a music hall it should not be allowed to go on the stage. I don't believe they please even the people who laugh at them. Being women, I don't care to express my opinion as to what they look like. I don't believe they shoud be considered at any price. RICE & WALTERS 18 full stage This has the makings of a very pleasing comedy acrobatic act. They have picked out good bits from the other acrobatic sets, which, together with some stuff of their own, makes a good offering. As both men are young the act is all right at the price. HEDRIX & PRESCOTT 14 full stage, closing in one Pair singing and dancing act, but theyr spoil their impression by talk. However, as acts go they make good. AL LAWRENCE 15 all in one Not doing as many imitations or singing so much and works the story end of his act more than ever. . I believe the change is for the better, as he is giving a very strong act here, and delivers more goods for the money than any act we have played this season. Lawrence has always been handicapped a little bit by his appearance, and, though it may be owing to the impression he makes, he looks better than heretofore. ANDREASSEN BROTHERS 7 full stage Acrobats and hand to hand balancers who bill themselves and appear as Danish Midshipmen. This act was an agreeable surprise to us here. They follow along about the same lines as the Bright Bros., and work so smartly they make big hit with the audience. Possiblt not worth $175. but think they are worth more than some getting $200. Good act at $150. and could be used as a headliner. ABEL HUDSON 9 min. all in one. Good singing act for the money. W. B. McCallum.
