CHASE'S EMPIRE. CLEVELAND, O. WEEK OF JAN. 26th. MURPHY & NICHOLS. In their familiar sketch, "The Bifurcated Girl". Third time for this act here but it still goes well. 23 minutes, full stage. JOHN D. GILBERT. Monologist. The act is not any too strong but in his place on the bill, he does fairly well. 15 minutes in one. GARDNER & VINCENT. In, "An Idyl of the Links". Not much of a sketch, it simply being a vehicle for introducing a number of specialties which are very well received. 23 minutes, full stage. YORKE & ADAMS. First appearance here for some time and they make a hit. 16 minutes, in one. MME. HERRMANN. In, "Magic of the Orient". Very similar to her other act, " A Night in Japan", with the exception that she has discarded some of her old scenery , and substituted two new tricks. The act is very neat and makes good with the audience. 26 minutes, full stage. THE BAILEYS. Colored entertainers. An act very similar to Johnson and Dean's. Good offering for the money. 12 minutes, in one. HOWARD & BLAND. In, "A Strange Boy". The fact that these people are able to hold the audience for thirty minutes in this place on the bill tells the story. THE VITAGRAPH. Shows some good views in Cairo and the Pyramids.
